And what are they? RW is the only position that's more pressing. None of our current strikers are good enough to be 1st choice for Celtic.

Are you suggesting that we only sign a right winger (or 2) in Jan and noone else?

He’s more raw than Osmand, but as long as he keeps scoring we can’t complain.

Thats the thing with strikers. They dont all start out like Wayne Rooney at 18. Its a position that takes time. When it clicks, it can really click. Hope he keeps this up.

That first half is the best I have seen him play by some distance. He was a handful, actually linked play, scored a good header, offered a threat in behind and actually carried the ball fine at times too.

I hope he keeps proving me wrong.

As raw as he is (which i think is overstated a bit tbh, he has good pace and a nice touch at times), the one thing he's got in abundance is a strikers instinct. That buys him so much time in working on his overall game. Think he'll score plenty for us, and not just domestically, as long as the service is there.

Big future ahead for the bhoy.

I still think we need a fair bit of investment in the forward positions.

Rangers were so poor defensively yesterday that a good team would be putting them away by a few goals in regulation time I think.

Even when they went down to 10 men they didnt exactly sit back and shut up shop. But we couldnt take advantage and put the game out of sight.

None of us know yet what we absolutely need, because for the first time we're getting a look at all of the players we have, playing in the styles that suit them best, rather than Rodgers method of banging the same square peg into every round hole...

I think he's right, if the 2 lads keep popping in goals and improving their games up until Christmas I'd say they've earned the right to be our first pick strikers... Not saying we don't buy better if we find it, but we shouldn't immediately bury them to spares as we look for a new guy(s) and then NEED to find strikers, because we'd completely * off/demoralise them and most certainly lose them in the summer window. Europe is a dead duck this year, if they're good enough to win the SPFL we should stand by them and give them their run.

Callum McGregor told young strikers Johnny Kenny and Callum Osmand they can "conquer the world" after both notched in the pulsating 3-1 Premier Sports Cup semi-final win over Rangers on Sunday.

Sligoman Kenny, signed for the Hoops from Sligo Rovers in 2022 with subsequent loan spells at Queen's Park and Shamrock Rovers, has recently been given his chance due to injuries to Daizen Maeda and Kelechi Iheanacho.

The 22-year-old scored twice in the 4-0 win over Falkirk in midweek and headed Celtic ahead after 25 minutes at Hampden Park before Rangers' Thelo Aasgaard was sent off before the break for a reckless challenge on Anthony Ralston.

Gers skipper James Tavernier's penalty in the 81st minute took the game to extra time but McGregor thundered in a strike three minutes after the restart and 19-year-old substitute Osmand scored his first Celtic goal since signing from Fulham in the summer to set up a final against St Mirren.

"It's always an opportunity for every player when they come in," said McGregor.

"They're working so, so hard to develop and get to the level with the first-team boys.

"Johnny scores two during the week and you just know, when you've been around football a long time, I just knew he would have an impact on Sunday.

"He has taken himself to another level in terms of status now, scoring against Rangers, so he'll be brimming with confidence and the same with young Ossie.

There's been times where he's been out the squad but he's a player who trains so hard every day and has a nice finish as well, so he's one that's just going to keep developing and strikers with confidence can go and conquer the world."

Felt during the summer that Kenny was one of the players who got shafted due to the boards bungling of the window by not getting sent out on loan to another spfl side for the season as he clearly needed regular first team football to see if he could make it at Celtic. Getting some game time now we are seeing that the potential we all saw in pre-season is there but clearly he needs to play so it will be interesting to see what we do in January with the 9 position. For now though you can't argue with 3 goals in 2 games and one being the first in a derby win.

He is a genuine player and makes himself a pain for defenders by always looking to make a run and is physically strong, would very likely have scored again had Benny left that far easier chance for him as butland was so exposed to his right side , no complaints on Benny as he was giving his ususal 100% , but think Kenny woud have passed it in.
