His set pieces are a mixed bag for me. Overall, done well sitting beside Cal, just needs to cut out silly fouls.

It’s crazy what happens when you play to a guy’s strengths.

Probably his best game for us imo since his debut.

Thought his delivery was sketchy tbh but similar to the Sturm Graz game he imposed himself.

Much better since he came back in, another one benefiting from the change of system. Basically the whole team has tbh.

Loved the way he turned round and got it up the Huns at his corner for Kenny's goal

Imagine putting a player in a role he was excelling in when we signed him for a small fortune, absolute madness.:BR1:

We've been rank rotten from corners for a long time without him though. His corners are absolutely lethal at times. The one today was a peach and his one for Nygren against Sturm Graz was a belter too. He's already got to have more assists from corners than most of our players over the last few years lol

If he played for Arsenal he'd get 15-20 assists a season from them.

We should score more from corners now that CCV is out, he's murder in the oppositions box I feel like he's scored about 6 goals for us and even then they were mostly shots, I mind he scored a shot at Ibrox, his first goal I think for us when he shot from outside the box and it deflected in and then one last season where he leathered in the shot from outside the box against someone.

    * played about 150 games for us and probably been in the box for about 1,500 corners and scored about 2 headers.

The 4-3-3 was killing us. It just did not suit our current crop of players in the squad.

The 4-2-3-1 has transformed us, just look at the difference with the double pivot of McGregor and Engels, both players appear to have been reborn.

For once in a long while, Rangers couldn't cope with us in the 4-2-3-1 system, we exploited all their weaknesses down the channels and over the top of them, though the intensity and solidity of us dropped when Hatate and Forrest came on at the 70th minute mark.

We need to address that drop off and shortfall in quality options off the bench in the January transfer window.

He was great today. I’ve always said that he that he would excel playing in the holding role in a 4231.

I love Brendan but that was one of my biggest criticisms of him. Why continue to play Hatate and a 433?

    Well done young man

Totally agree, his heading ability in the opposition box is very poor, he's missed some real sitters. Scales and Trusty definitely pose more of an aerial threat and hopefully with Engels in the team we'll continue to threaten from set pieces. A massive asset to have.

Agreed. One of my biggest criticisms of Rodgers. Even though I love BR.

Kenny as well is a good addition, we've been used to playing with Kyogo, Maeda, Iheanacho. Even Idah and Giakoumakis probably only started about 30 games between them for us so we've almost always lacked a 3rd guy who is decent in the air, mostly even a 2nd too since CCV is almost always taking up one of the centre-back slots.

Having Scales, Trusty and Kenny on together and Engels delivering probably triples our chances of scoring a corner compared to Scales, CCV and Iheanacho and Nygren or whoever else taking them.

Even Nygren now I mention him is a good addition to scoring corners, again with O'Riley, Hatate, Rogic, Turnbull, McCowan and whoever usually our midfield 3 have 0 presence from a corner but Nygren is decent in the air, could probably have scored 3/4 this season from set pieces.

First half it was brilliant, lost that when the game got on. What I like just now is exactly what you said, he could hide last season. He works very hard this season, unwilling to be a passenger, end of last season he was trying to do what he is just now but didn’t know how to apply it effectively. And that’s what he’s learned to do, work hard effectively.

Definitely, scored a couple of nice headers now. Can tell he's benefitting from the game time. Really nice to see him and Osmand hitting a bit of form we desperately need it. The 2 of them can be really proud with their contributions today.

The only creative outlet in midfield until Forrest came on.
