Been one of his biggest critics but was great.
He does have a brain fart in him though like today :fear:

Auston Trusty hasn't played a lot of football this season. He's played, obviously, the two games since you've come in. Are you pleased with his contribution so far?

I thought that he and Scales, in the two games, have been fantastic. I thought Scales was incredible. Trusty has done brilliantly for us.

Brilliantly, in the two games. So, I don't know what's happened in the past, it was just something that I thought would put him in. The young kid [Dane Murray] who had a difficult time at Hearts, they tell me he's going to be a player.

So, that's nice to hear. But, we'll see. The two lads together have been terrific, really, in the two games.

Trusty was superb and definitely deserved his MOTM award.

Imperious in defence and majestic in striding out of defence with the ball.

Very solid CB partnership there now Trusty/Scales.

Solid performance but that’s nothing new. Had some great performances under Rodgers and then was just overlooked harshly and I am aware he had a few dodgy games but overall he has been solid for us. Some big performances in big games especially in Europe.

No point in looking back but the idea of Rodgers going Murray over Trusty at Tynecastle looks even more mental now.

He's been miles above CCV imo.

Was surprised he was MotM, he was very steadily reliable not outstanding and he should have seen red. Still good performance, to nobody’s surprise as CB performances go I thought Scales would edge it as the better one, due to that tackle on Gassama and Trusty on Butland being the swing for who was better IMO

We are very short term reactionary as a support, he’s not.

But he missed the dross performances this season injured and on the bench, and came in with a rejuvenated team and squad. Every player looks ten times better the last two games. CCV is out for them though, but I’d think it’s a safe bet that we’d have seen a similar reaction from CCV as the rest of the squad

Surprised you think he should have seen red. For me, it is more closer to a tap than excessive force. Butland was never endangered unless Trusty has spikes on the side of his boots. Yellow was the right decision.

But I do agree that while he was good, I was surprised he got motm too.

He was a man mountain, won everything in the air. As he has don multiple times on the right hand side of defence alongside Scales.

Should have been off for what? :56::56::56:

Been great since he came back in.
Another thing that makes you think * was Rodgers playing at although granted CCV and Scales have been largely very good.

Thought he was great, minus the head incident.

He barely touched Butland, if at all, but it was stupid to put himself in that position. Yellow was the correct decision.

Someone said on SSB that he thinks he was anticipating a rebound.

I think I could get behind that theory. Still a bit weird though cause it was an easy smother of the ball from Butland.

Don't see what reason Trusty would have to do that though.

    This. Again.

He's a good CB for our level. So aggressive today I loved it.

My issue last season with him was a lack of that. I * loved seeing that in him today.

He’s a * tank, who sometimes didn’t seem to realise it. He * knew today.
