as a former anti caldwell campainer i have to admit he is one of our top men now , he is defonentily our top defender , takes a bit of heart to stick some of that critisism last year and hes overcame that and became a solid figure. he still has a bit to improve on but thats only normal , i would drop mcmanus for loovens big mick needs a good kick up the * !!

Been saying since before McManus was made captain that he was not good enough to fill that position, and my opinion has not changed.

An honest, hard working, good professional, but these things don't make you a good footballer.

Don't think I've ever seen so many people blinkered with a players ability than I have with McManus.

Nobody will try harder than Mick but at times that does not get you through games. As at the end of the day the only way you can guarantee a good performance is by relying on true skill, which right now Mick does not seem to have.

I'd change our defence to 3 men, and play O'Dea, together with Caldwell and Loovens.

Neither of them good enough for Celtic. McManus is just pish and Caldwell is made to look better than he is. Although, at least Caldwell has shown the ability to improve. But I just wonder how much he has left in the tank. This defensive problem has been ongoing for years and WGS has done * all about it. Always amazes me when 60,000 folk in the stand know what the problem is but the manager does not.

Sorry but hav u 4got how Boruc has got his tag of being one of the best keepers in europe? Coz he's had to bail big Mick & co out of trouble on numerous occasions when they've made mistakes! It's more to do with having a great goalkeeper that we had the ''best defence''!

And lots of Naka's fans are blind to his failings.

    Strachan ignores McManus critics

Gordon Strachan says no attention has been paid within his dressing room to criticism of captain Stephen McManus.

I have to agree with Strachan's approach to this matter.

Same, we only see what happens in the games, for all we know he is like maldini in training and caldwell is like barasi.
