Out of genuine curiosity, why would he be way ahead of Robbie Keane (assume its not Roy Keane)?

Think a few of us have mentioned this.

But also in a way it doesn't really make sense as he still has to manage and coach the players that are brought in, to be successful. So evidently there is talent there with him and Knutsen.

@Belgian_lad did you say your mates were laughing about the rumours of Hayen?

    What are they saying now?

I agree it's just to what extent can it be replicated especially if the conditions aren't perfect. Brugges, like Brentford and Brighton, seem the unicorn environment.

True. But it also wasn't long ago they weren't anywhere near the level they are now. I'm sure they went a good while without a title over there.

I think regardless, it shows what can be done with a bit of effort. I don't think we have put any real effort into modernising the club and we are currently reaping what we have sown in that respect.

Knutsen especially, since he is able to make players perform better than other managers when those same players go abroad.

In the first part you're unfortunately, describing a manager that rarely exists in the modern game. Or are at least a bit of a dying breed?

Ronnie D was great at his previous club. Didn't do much for us apart from banning tomato ketchup.

they were surprised that Hayen never committed fully to them during the interview on Wednesday.

They are however still in denial and would think he’d only leave for an English team.

this site made a 6-reasons why he should sign for Celtic: https://www.voetbalkrant.com/nieuws...y-hayen-club-brugge-moet-verlaten-voor-celtic

I am in the 30% chance bracket now!

To be fair to the * it is very, very rare for a manager to rule themselves out from a job unless they are taking a break from management. They normally keep the door open

I think many of us will get the feeling because of Clement and the Club Brugge link. There is a distinct difference about their time in Brugge. Clement took over pretty much the team of Michel Preud’homme. Whilst Hayen had a Brugge that was in a bit of turmoil Parker/(not entirely sure who had them on 4th place in the league) managed the worst result in 5 yrs. Hayen took them over midway the season and guided them to the title.

after Deila got the sack I remember on here we had the talk how much of a basket case Brugge were at the time. Which is only 2/3yrs ago. Things can go fast.

I agree with them. We have no real draw right now to a manager who is in the CL. If he goes, it will be to England.

Did we have that conversation about Brugge after they sacked Deila? They were an absolute basket case at the time. Seems so long ago, but only 3 years or so.

Knutsen is my first choice.would be going all out to get him but then again it all comes down to him being backed he would need at least 6 players in january. Hayen the brugge coach would be my next choice if we cant get knutsen .we need a coach who knows how to deal with european teams.however if there is any inkling that ange would like to come back then i would be happy too .bring his compromising pictures of lawwell back with him and blackmail him into making another 5 signings lol
