I wonder if they're gonna try time things for the AGM.
Another poor defeat in the next few weeks (before the next international) and they may pull the trigger on Rodgers and hire a new manager with some (soon to be broken) promises that will have enough fans cool off and let them slide again. AGM rolls around and they have a manager who's got a tune again, with some worded answers about backing them then they get away with it for another season to two til it all comes to a head again.

What we want now, is the Collective to stay firm with this and organised, even when the general fan will bury their head again and be happy with a win over rangers as their mark of success.

Something seismic like Hearts winning the league this year might unfortunately may be whats required to drive change in the structure and at board level.

The contrasts are hard to ignore. They have ambitious leadership and a smart operating model designed to maximise their resources. They aimed high at the start of season with a goal most would have dismissed as foolish. But you can see the energy and belief running through the club from the stands to the pitch. Its the polar opposite to what we have.

Hearts winning the league from that kind of position would be impossible for this board to hide from. And maybe if it takes this season being sacrificed on the alter for change then in the long run we could look back at this season as the catalyst and it may have been a worthwhile sacrifice.

Hearts running out of steam and us limping past them would probably result in little to no real change (even though it clearly should)

It's not. I've clearly said that I want the fight to continue with the board until they're removed. I don't like the way they run the club and I think they've failed over multiple years but they still need to run the club. Performances on the pitch and the soundbites from the manager haven't been good enough and that's why I think there needs to be a change.

Rodgers has torched the players confidence and isn't getting the best out of the good players we do have. He's clearly frustrated about the failure to properly recruit in the summer and not provide him with the tools to fight on all fronts. However, we should be performing better and we should not be sitting here in October, 8 points behind Hearts.

The two things are linked but there are also separate elements to them. We aren't performing well enough and recruitment has got a lot to do with that. The board take responsibility for that. However, the good players not performing to the level they have shown previously and the nature of our play and the decision making by the manager is not down to the board. That's down to Rodgers.

I think we need to make a change in the dugout to salvage the season. It doesn't mean that the battle for the club is over because we make a change in the dugout. Change at boardroom level is still required and that will never change until the club is modernised. With or without the current board/custodians.

DESMOND has sold our team - now sell your shares and eff off

Tony Bloom is everything you are not - how will your ego handle it when you are shown up for being a little dictator who
gets his erse handed to him by someone who knows what they are doing and doesn't need a bunch of lickspittle spineless
    men in the boardroom

only thing that will get his attention is Memes all across the internet. Guy is 100% concerned with his own image and
not how our team are playing. Doesn't even attend games / agm etc.

I don't think that's true at all. The board sold all our most creative players and replaced them with a couple of cheap punts. No one is winning with that.

We wouldn't have a striker or a goalkeeper if it wasn't for Rodgers calling in a favour from a couple of his old mates. Same for last season with Schlupp.

The board just aren't interested in building a squad of players. The refuse to do any due diligence on potential signings. Players they do sign are whatever dud or cast off an agent waves in their faces.

We've been lucky we haven't crashed harder due to this board, and that's partly been down to Rodgers. He's won at least a double in every season he's managed us until now. He isn't to blame for this season.

I believe we signed a lot of guys from recommendations of Ange’s agent Frank Trimboli who has a football agency.

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong.

That coupled with the fact Lawwell didn’t have as much influence in transfers at the time will be reason we were successful in the market over that short period.

I agree. As I have said a fair number of times now Rodgers is not blameless for the mess we are now on the field but the vast majority of the blame lies with Nicholson, Lawwell, McKay and Desmond and it is they who need to go for us as a club to actually have a chance to build and grow the club again.

Hopefully by the end of the season Lawwell, Nicholson and McKay will all be gone and the rest of the dinosaurs ie Wilson and Alison follow suit, We are managed by a group of old men who have completely ran out of ideas.

Hopefully. Not only have they run out of ideas but they are happy to back stab our own manager in public and sabotage our own team. Their positions are absolutely untenable IMHO. They must go.

The Rodgers debacle might, in the long term
, be the perfect catalyst for change as Desmond confirms exactly what we knew about the competence of the current blazers

The current regime cannot survive this.

I hope your right but at least now we can focus fully on the real change that is needed at Celtic and that is Nicholson, Lawwell, McKay and Desmond must go.

Michael Nicholson just sat in the board room while Desmond writes his statement:

Dermot can turn this Trainwreck around...:BR1:

All he has to do is implement a stronger and more ambitious sporting structure, with highly competent recruitment team that are also enabled to do their work.
Additional transparency and fan connections on top.
Then all the fans will be singing Dermots name from the stands.
    Simples.

Take a breath then double down on the protest, dd has shown his contempt for all with that statement, a bigger statement was Kennedy going with Rodgers, Kennedy been st Celtic 27 years and had many opportunities to leave for better wages and positions including he could have got a lift with Rodgers to Leicester but even he's had enough and it's not as if he's walking into a new job with Rodgers, Kennedy has just walked away from his club and life at Celtic.

Personally dont think anyone walked away. Think they were pushed. Then I think, our boards so slow at anything, we wouldn't react this quick.. then I realise instantly they have caretakers in.. that takes a bit of planning. So I swing around to sacked. Rightly so.
