I struggle to think of worse attacking options in the past 25 years

The midfield is an issue, but I think our attacking options are much more of an issue. The only two attackers I really rate are Jota and Daizen, both currently injured and the latter not being in great form this season.

    Our current options are:
    • Tounekti - decent start but lacking end product, getting double and tripled up on as he's viewed as our main threat.
    • Balikwisha - Clearly has some ability but hasn't shown anywhere near enough so far. He's been disappointing.
    • Iheanacho - Good attitude but not particularly mobile. Decent touch but finds himself too deep or too wide as the striker a lot of the time. Now injured.
    • Forrest - Club legend who can still offer something off the bench but at 34 his best days are well behind him.
    • Kenny - Runs a lot but he's clearly not good enough. Can't finish his dinner.
    • Yamada - Plays football like a plastic bag floating about on the motorway. Looks like he has no idea where he's supposed to be.
    • Yang - Awful footballer.
    • Nygren - Plays on the right of the attack so I've included him in here. He's a goal threat but misses too many chances and his general play is frustrating.

So as the title says, I can't think of a worse set of attacking options in the 21st century.

Aye but apart from that, our impotent midfield and a defence without CCV and Johnston we are looking pretty strong :fear: Over two months until the transfer window opens with a manager they won’t give money to. I have severe Celtic depression :giggle1:

That was the main issue with the last window...

Agree, should really have a Jota, Kuhn and Kyogo with back up of Iheanacho, Nygren, Tounetki, Balikwisha, Forrest etc

So playing with really back up quality as first choice.

Same even in midfield, theres a Commons/Christie/Rogic/Mooy/Armstrong/O'Riley type more attacking player missing, Nygren probably could do it if we had a first choice level front 3 but with poor front 3 hard to say if he would.

Iheanacho would usually be 3rd choice possibly at very best a back up but we're banking on him being the main man for goals

Even when we were pish when I was a kid, we always had a striker we worshipped. Poor lads.

"I no theres a boycott in merch son, but do you want a top for your Christmas with a name?"

"Naw dad, can we just watch cricket?"

I think you need to go back 30+ years since we had worse attacking options. Early 90s. Every other season I can think of we've had a good striker or two at the very least. This season our strikers are *, injured or both. Wingers ranging from sub standard to utter dog *. Pathetic attacking options.

    This is the key.

And that back 4 put out on Sunday is very poor too - maybe would struggle to be in a top 6 SPL team.

The crazy thing is, people are ignoring this and perpetuating the Brendan, Brendan, Brendan hoax.

If they can advise me how Brown/Lennon/Ange/Maloney/Kennedy are able to extract more from the team then I’ll begin to listen. And I’ll also have some of whatever it is your having.

In the meantime, I’ll leave it in the hands of one of the more decorated managers in the clubs history. The guy who started normalising trebles.

    As you were.

The midfield is an issue our front line is an issue
And our defence is an issue.

The youngsters coming through are not up to much either.

A club in decline and a rapid decline at that.

A massive task to turn it around.
