Aye wrong decision to start him (in hindsight), and wrong decision to leave him on when he was clearly struggling. Another on a long line of poor decisions by the manager.

We'll definitely see Trusty during the week now though (surely?), it's absolutely vital he gets through it ok and doesn't make an * of it. Next weekend is * massive.

Personally think that professional football players that are training every day, obviously will have a stronger better foot but should be more than capable with both feet,

It’s always the same though. Fans scream for them to get a chance, then when they do if they make mistakes like today they then say “Well not in that game.” There’s a reason these guys don’t see much game time. The likelihood is they just aren’t good enough.

Expecting them to step in for 90 minutes is just stupid.

Getting them in and around the squad, making the bench, getting 15 minutes a game and then 30 are the blindingly obvious steps. They can then fill in, in certain games.

Throwing them under the bus because there is no other choice due to an injury crisis is literally the worst way.

    100% correct!!
These guys are not good enough but unfortunately a poor, very poor transfer window, and terrible injuries have meant we have to put guys in that are blatantly not good enough.

Why is it should? He has made enough appearances now in the first team. If he isn’t capable of playing in domestic games then what use is he? We’re taking about someone who is 22 here by the way, not a 16 or 17 year old child.

The OG is genuinely one of the worst things I’ve ever seen from a professional footballer.

I don’t think it’s OTT to suggest he should never play for us again tbh. * pathetic performance.

Moving his leg away from the ball for their second aswell. Atleast when Kayal done it you could argue it was instinctual cos it was going towards his face.

Du Wei got done away with for less and he did nothing as explicit as those mistakes today.

Infact I’ve seen CCV have worse games than Du Wei solitary performance. He was very hard done by

Brendan Rodgers wouldn’t know a centre-half if Franco Baresi walked up to him, shook his hand, and immediately slide-tackled * out of him.

I was only like 8 during that Du Wei game against Clyde.

Was there a specific moment or couple of moments that stick out in peoples minds as to why he’s so maligned? Or was it just a constant shitshow from him? He was subbed wasn’t he? Feel like it’s a question I’ve never asked despite hearing constant references to him in the past :56:

Just looked completely and utterly out of his depth and, IIRC, he gave away a pen and was hooked at half-time.

I felt the OG was the least criminal of all 3 goals. The penalty was the worst and moving his leg away was a close second.

I don’t mean to kick the boy when he’s down but he is finished at this level.

As tempting as it might be to feel sorry for him, there will be 22 year old CBs that have played in the SPFL that would kill for the opportunity that boy has just had - and they would’ve performed far better.

This isn’t his first howler and he’s not a teenager anymore. I’ve actually never seen him offer anything at all that tempts me to overlook how awful he was yesterday.

He shouldn’t get on the pitch again unless it’s an emergency (and I’ll admit we’re pretty much there).

He’s not even that young either. He’s older than Engels.

    Which is scary.
He had an injury last year, but even then!

Same happened with Welsh, both aren't getting debuts til they are in their 20s and then thrown in due to injury crisis.

We need to be giving these lads a break in to the squad years before this, if they look to have real potential, then get them adequate game time. Otherwise loan them out at 18 or 19 and get them back here in better shape before they are 20.

It baffles me though that we happily sign 19 and 20 year olds and give them chances. But won't give our own youth a chance till it's too late and then expect the world of them.

And we wonder why guys like Doak leave at the first chance now.

Tangent, but take Doak for an example.
Why aren't we giving him the sort of game time at 18 that we are happy to give to a guy like Yang at 19?
Imagine the mood of a doak who is getting that level of first team game time at 18, then happily signs a contract and come 19 and 20, he is flying with us!
But nah, we have Yang for the last 3 seasons barely developing unless he is getting his hole.

His confidence will be gone. On the other hand he has to think to himself that this is the road to choose, he needs to get in the mix to expose his weaknesses in order to properly develop into his full potential. Problem here is that we don't have the time and it's not worth the risk to give the youth players and opportunity, when we do it backfires
