Alien: Earth - any fans?

I'm not an ardent fan of the whole Alien franchise thingy, but I've just finished watching the last episode of the first season there. Thought it was quite a good series overall and hope they do another season at the very least. The visuals, sets, cinematography - and the general look of if - were immaculate and impressive. The acting was very good for the most part, too, as was the music/score (Hard Rock & Metal fans will heartily approve). Imo, the writing was the weakest aspect, but not to the extent that it was poor or average, or enough to put you off watching it; in fact, it's pretty good as well. 8/10.

Anyone else like it?

 

Adults acting like they were from the haribo advert grated on me. I get why but still annoyed me. Hope they make season 2. I want to see the eyeball thing progress.

 

That eyeball thing was both stupid, gross and intriguing at same time. It latches onto animal hosts, burrows into their eyeballs, and then takes over them and controls them. It doesn't seem to be able to reproduce, though.

 

There better be a season 2, cozI want to see that eyeball take over a human.
And that Asian synth/robot/whatever that kept obsessive like leering at her when she was asleep etc was never explained

 

Plus, there's meant to be 3 world leaders/factions. We've only seen two so far, so plenty of scope for another series

 

I loved the films (through the 3rd) but didn’t enjoy this series and never continued it after the pilot episode

 

This was by far my biggest issue with it as well. Alongside making Wendy severely OP.

Also, the pet Xenomorph thing? Urgh.

 

Have liked most of the Alien films, 1-3 and the newer ones like Prometheus, Covenant and Romulus. Resurrection was probably the only one I didn't like, even didn't mind the Predator one. I thought the show was decent enough, will be happy to see a second series.

 

I thought it was quite good but shat the bed a bit in the final two episodes.
So mental that Adrian Edmonson is in it. Watched so much of him whacking Rik Mayall about with frying pans. He is good in this more serious role though.

I am usually easily pleased and just glad to get more alien content. I enjoyed newer films. I thought Romulus was really good but I had gone in thinking it would be rubbish.

Edit: Hahaha so he is, I never even realised that was him without the glasses, and not wearing a smashing blouse

 

Need to give this a watch, Aliens is still one of my fav films.

 

It's funny ... I spotted that 'The Young Ones' actor right away; he has a very distinctive voice & face, imo (Vivian, I think he played). In fairness, I'd seen him before in much more serious roles than The Young Ones -- well before this 'Alien: Earth' thingy -- and, imo, he's a very good & versatile actor.

And, yes, Romulus is a very decent film. 7/10 from me.
