Let’s be honest up until the goal it was the mare of all mares performance. If he wasn’t a missing sitters he was running straight into players. Credit to him though for not shying away and popping up with the winner.

Don’t think his position in the side changes the fact he’s always going to provide end product and frustrate in equal measure.

Palma MKII more than Commons for me.

Think he’s a player that’s quality is just being dragged down with the rest of the squad. Pre and start of season he looked levels above to me but has dropped off- even physically as thought he had a little bit of it pace about him until recent weeks.

Even though he does miss chances, he atleast pops up in these dangerous positions unlike the rest of our midfield/attackers

He's a fine squad option but that's probably his limit.

I thought he played well. He should be starting on the right for the time being.

Not a winger. He can't run past people. CM/AM or false 9.

I thought he was pretty * good tbh. On another day he would have a hattrick. Not a winger but still by far the best option we have atm.

He doesn't necessarily need to run past people. Yeah it helps being a winger obviously but he has very intelligent movement and gets himself into very dangerous positions. Think it's probably easier to find those positions coming from wider.

A fit AJ would massively compensate for his inability to go past players so his injury is a massive blow. Would stick with Donovan in the meantime as he offers more in an attacking sense.

Quality player, always on front foot and getting into great positions.
Utilise him correctly, he gets us 20+ goals and is a POYT candidate.
Just needs to work on those headers!!

think you have to take the positive from the fact he found himself in the position to score about 5 goals and scored 1 rather than he missed 4 chances he should have been scoring

I've been quite critical of Nygren since he joined. Something about his attitude has annoyed me. Whipping up the crowd after 40 mins in season opener at home to St Mirren at a corner when he'd done very little. Flopping to the ground looking for a free and whinging at the ref when he lost the ball regularly also did. The ear cup celebrations when he scores etc.

So I probably can admit to maybe having an irrational dislike to him and maybe he's one in over critical of.

At the moment he seems to be a bit of a square peg in a round hole no matter where he plays. Lacks the pace to play out wide and doesn't really have the craft to play in the middle.

In saying that he has a ridiculous ability to get into goalscoring positions and come up with a goal. Clearly his reading of the game, movement, anticipation is top drawer. He has 5 already in a struggling team and could have up around 11/12 if he had been clinical.

He will frustrate the life out of us with his play and decision making but he seems to be a natural goalscorer and on those grounds looks like he has to be in the team.

I don't feel he's a natural right winger as he's not got the pace to beat people or run in behind but I think it's his best position now as Forrest and Yang are the other options and it gets him more advanced up the pitch.

    An enigma.

Say what you like about the big man but he never hides. has the personality to play for Celtic and is always a goal threat. i'd stick with him wide right for now as at least he will carry that threat unlike yang or forrest. potential he plays as a 9 at tynecastle i think

You get the feeling he isn't very well liked which isn't hidden in the groans when he makes a mistake, he is going to be extremely important for us with the lack of firepower.

He done that with every corner he took in his first 3 or 4 games, probably a Scandanavian thing, maybe he even played for teams before who scored from corners so thought it was a big chance.

But he stopped doing it since then, probably realised we never score from these corners or was told that we don't do all that patter for a corner lol

I'd keep him wide right the now as well, he isn't a winger or going to play there for 2 year or anything but he does create and score goals and playing there means he isn't in midfield where he doesn't get about the pitch well enough in midfield for me.

He is definitely a number 10 if not a striker.

If it wasn’t for us not having a right winger I would be tempted to try him as a false 9. However, I do think we can get away with him being that sort of inside forward off the right when we do have a flair winger like Tournekti on the other side.

However, playing him wide right when it’s a Maeda or so far by the look of it Balikwisha that also don’t want to go beat their man just doesn’t work.

It was like when we played Abada with Maeda on the other wing and Kyogo up top, none of them could actually hold the ball or wanted it with a defender goal side of them.

The problem we have with Jota out is Tournekti is literally the only winger we have that offers any flair and with Hatate out of sorts we get none from the middle either.

Nygren’s box crashing runs are his main strength and he is normally been a better finisher than he has shown for us.

I think he would be an effective player in a better team than we are currently showing.
