I know, it's insane... How could anyone think that the reigning champions, with a team full of international players and £100M+ in the bank might overpower a team that's managed to put together a few results in a row when there's only... (Checks notes) Oh, just 80% of the season to go...

I wonder what our possession stats show about how often the central defenders have the ball. I don't see any other team, anywhere, that plays the ball as much in their own half as we do. By the time we cross the half way line, the opposition have their defence in place, and we can't work out how to get to real attacking positions. Something has to change, soon.

Time will tell but that team right now could be to far behind to mount a challenge and I'm sure we will spend plenty of they millions just like the summer

This is an embarrassing Celtic squad quality wise but i think we will get over the line.

Hearts are confident and flying but they’ll have a poor spell as soon as they lose their first, Sunday is must not lose.

we will spend in January because this board can’t afford to not and then lose the title to Hearts.

Bur make no mistake about it, Hearts are here to stay and challenge. They will recurit well at a fraction of our prices and we wont change.

Our Keeper, back 4 and McGregor average 415 passes per game in the League. Hearts as a club only do 433 per game.

    36 Schmeichel
    103 Scales
    94 CCV
    75 McGregor
    56 Ralston
    51 Tierney

Baring in mind Tierney has been subbed off with 25-30 minutes to go mostly and Ralston, Tierney twice and McGregor have all come on as a sub once, plus times they've all been subbed off so if you go to passes per 90 minutes its

    36 Schmeichel
    103 Scales
    98 CCV
    81 McGregor
    78 Tierney
    77 Ralston

483 passes per 90 in the League between our keeper, back 4 and McGregor.

Thats is more than every club in the League do per game except the Huns and Motherwell who average 536 and 533.

Hearts two centre-backs Halkett and Findlay only do 89 passes per game between them.

Even worse really as Trusty averaged 135 passes per game in the 2 games he played and Inamura played 92 in the game he played so Trusty even goes way higher than CCV and Scales and Inamura went way higher than Tierney and Johnston averages 80 per game which is evern higher than Ralston, plus Saracchi averages 83 which is also higher than Tierney.

Overall of the 688 passes per game we average probably under 200 are between the front 5, maybe only about 180 per game.

It is some difference to other teams our players passes per 90 minutes....

    91 Inamura
    83 Saracchi
    80 Johnston
    78 Tierney
    77 Ralston
    68 Tavernier
    52 Meghoma
    48 Kinglsey
    42 Obita
    40 Milne

    135 Trusty
    103 Scales
    97 CCV
    92 Murray
    80 Souttar
    80 Djiga
    71 Cornelius
    66 Bushiri
    57 Iredale
    56 Kent
    50 Halkett
    46 Hanley
    46 Findlay

    103 Bernardo
    81 McGregor
    56 Devlin
    55 Rothwell
    52 Nilsen
    48 Barron
    38 Baningime

Im sure people say also that an indicator of who wins a League is who has the highest xG in their favour like say your xG for was 90 over a season and xG against was 20 overall you'd be +70 xG. I think almost all the time the team with the best in their League wins the League.

Ours is about +12, Hearts is +7, Hibs +5, Motherwell +2, Aberdeen +2 Huns +1.

Like mind Ange's first season after like 10 games someone said Celtic are probably going to win the League by 10 points or something even though we were probably 5 points off the top or whatever at the time, cause the xG of us was that good that if it continued you'd eventually pull away and things would balance out.

So even as bad as we've been this season indications are we are still way ahead of these other teams.

Although its only 8 games and it could take a swing, like if Hearts got 3xg against us and we only got 0.5 against them then instead of being 5 ahead of them it would be equal again.

There's a lot of talk that the players aren't playing for the manager but, surely as professional players, they should play for their fellow teamates and their own self respect and, if they can't, then they shouldn't be playing for Glasgow Celtic and the fans who spend their hard earned cash supporting them. So, can they win the league, of course, but they need to put their heart and soul into doing it

    Tremendous research mate.

Those numbers are frightening tho. There are plenty of other big clubs in similar leagues who dominate possession like we do but id be pretty sure none of their cb have anywhere near the same number of passes ours do.

Its just such a bizarre way of playing and id love someone to put those stats to Rodgers and ask him what exactly is his game plan.

Would also love to know the number of passes between gk, back 4 and McGregor under Ange. Could be wrong but id reckon its way lower than it is currently.

I voted no, based purely on opposition form, our current form and club status quo.

    As it stands, no.

Plenty of time for it to change; hearts collapse, sevco continue to stutter, and Rodgers finally wakes the * up etc.

    As is stands now...no.

Hearts highest ever point finish was 74 points.

    Celtic covid season.. 77 points.

So yes. I think we may win, but it'll be tight. Hearts won 11 games in 2021 nit just 8.. so its a bit premature to call them as title winners.

Exactly this! Does my nut in that professional footballers can get away with being so unprofessional and disrespectful to the tens of thousands of fans who pay for their life of luxury and comfortable retirement

Voted yes but I'm not in any way confident. And don't really have anything to base that on other than the fact we always win it.

    We are dire currently.

With the current disharmony between the board, manager and the fans with the players needing to play through the ill feelings and atmosphere? No. If we thought Santa being booed was bad a couple of years ago, it will be worse this year.

Seen nothing to suggest we will so far. Needs a managerial change , a change in style then proper investment in January
