Can't defend Rodgers on that Civic comment. That was a mistake no doubt about it IMHO. The only thing I will say is as highly as I rate Rodgers as a manager he is of course not untouchable and that strikes me as a manager feeling the pressure and making a mistake flat out with that comment as a result.

So we have a Japanese striker who scored 19 goals 2 seasons ago and 9 goals last season and he's nowhere to be seen and Rogers doesn't help himself playing the same players and getting the same poor results .
So we have 4 players who don't even get a game now Pusey and the Japanese left back and Osmond who we signed from Fulham he really needs to now try something different as presently it's not working.

The old money argument after a defeat is one that is completely stupid. Because since the beginning of time, upsets happen. That’s always been the way in football. It will continue to happen every season in every league across the globe also. Will we finish above Dundee and probably all other teams in the league over the course of the season? Aye we probably will. That doesn’t mean that we will or should win every single domestic game we play. I remember seeing the same guff said in Rodgers first season back when our options were awful. We still won that league however because our team over the course prevailed. There was some shocking performances on the way though. I expect this season to be the same.

This is where I've been for sometime. The issues with style of play, formation and motivation have been obvious long before the summer shambles.

He’s done here although we have to see out the season with him. Signs have been there for a while but I ignored them up until a few weeks ago thinking he’d change something or we would click. End of last season was pretty poor especially cup final. Board didn’t trust him this summer so we didn’t spend any money then this season has been a shambles from the get go.

Peoples reaction, and the money argument, isnt because of one freak result though. And in this case it is Rodgers bringing it up rather than anyone else. Rodgers bemoaning that he has a 'Civic' is ludicrous when you're playing in a league of push bikes. Of course people are rightly pulling him up on it.

It would be akin to had Celtic qualified for the champions league, beat Man City 2 0, only for their manager to moan that he 'only' got to spend 250m on his squad. Its silly stuff.

We can all see what’s happening at board level, the relationship between all parties looks broken.

BR has bowed out and he’s taken the team down with him.

No point going forward with him anymore.

Bit late to the party here but he's made himself look like a right clown with that Honda Civic comment. Shouldn't need Ferrari speed or power or whatever he said to beat * Dundee or Kairat Almaty etc. I am fast losing patience with him.

Sadly it is where I am at the moment.

We have 11 weeks or so until the January window and Rodgers sounds fed up. If he wants to leave in May then it makes more sense to me to get rid of him before that January window. If he is leaving in the summer we need a whole rebuild anyway- I dont see much benefit in delaying the process when everyone involved just look and sound so flat. Especially if there is an opportunity to get Ange back (a big 'if').

Who would we replace him with, after the last time you'd think he'd want to leave on a high so his stock is high?
Coming across as a * and the way he's put the signings in limbo is very poor and not good for us but also his career? It's all very strange.
We are only missing Jota, we shod not be as poor as we are

The car analogy from Rodgers was not very clever tbh, dosen't really achieve anything and won't exactly give the players a boost.

He spoke a while back about the players and how it was Celtic who pay their wages, well it's Celtic that pay his wages and he needs to start earning them by getting a tune out of the players.

He appears to be cutting his nose off to spite his face with the Board. His team selections, rigid formation, and strange substitutions make no footballing sense at all.

It's all started since the Sun leak about him, and its gone downhill fast.
Kairat onwards, it's been a complete shitshow with no sign of abating.
Spite is a very powerful driving emotion.
I'm surprised the Board have not pulled the trigger on him already.

Who do we get after him ?

I would like either Knutsen or Hayen.
    Probably wishful thinking :giggle1:

Rodgers comments isn’t aimed at the Dundee game in isolation though, he is talking overall, and is right to be honest. It was a dig at the board. Whether he should have said it is a different argument. The civic will beat the push bikes over the course of the season. That’s not the point being made though.

Whether that squad is a Honda, Ferrari or a * wee Nissan Micra, at the minute he's putting diesel into a petrol engine and expecting results. He's no right to complain.

That would suggest he is playing players out of position. He isn’t.
