    From the Celtic way

Paul Tisdale recently gave a presentation to a large group of Celtic academy youngsters. The B team were present, along with most of the under-19s squad, and some members of the under-17s set-up.

The Head of Football Operations went through what Brendan Rodgers wants from his first-team players and how youths can work their way through the ranks.

To many, Tisdale's address came as a surprise. Aside from the B team's Glasgow Cup final defeat to Rangers in April, he hasn't been spotted at any youth matches since his official appointment. The Englishman is known as somewhat of an elusive figure, and at least within the academy, he lives up to that reputation.

My guess is that he sets the valuations and others then negotiate (or try to) to the deal.
Fundamentally if Tisdale is valuing targets way lower than their club (or indeed their true) valuation, that is a serious issue as it artificially lowers our headroom to conclude transfers.
Is he given a steer from the likes of Lawell to keep things low, that's even worse.
Maybe he's fighting really hard to increase our ambition in the market?
We simply don't know - which is part of the wider transparency issues.

Either which way, his appointment does not seem to be going well.

Brendan wanted Lee Congerton first time round, second time round he wanted Paul Tisdale

Both head scouts haven't been close to good enough, not only does Brendan himself have a terrible eye for a player but he also has a terrible eye for people (scouts) who are supposed to have a good eye for a player

That third goal Braga scored against Kilmarnock today, the quick feet to round the GK and finish, £500K he cost, yet we've spent £11M on a player in Engels who after a full season as an attacking 8 has never looked capable of that type of finish, something is badly wrong in the recruitment department

I've seen more than enough of Tisdale, he's had three separate windows now and shouldn't be getting another, get him to *
