We are delighted to announce that Rhys Dargie has become the latest young Celt to put pen to paper on an extended deal with the club.

The youngster, who signed his first professional deal with the Hoops in 2023, has extended his stay until the summer of 2028.

Rising through the ranks with the Celts, Dargie made his B Team debut at 16-years-old in the Lowland League.

The following season, the teenager began to feature more regularly for the B Team, playing his part in domestic and also European football, with appearances in the UEFA Youth League.

The winger started the 2025/26 season brightly before picking up an injury, and has earned a new contract with the Hoops, extending his stay a further two years.

Everyone at Celtic would like to congratulate Rhys, and look forward to seeing him continue his journey at Paradise

That was comically bad, they were lucky not to concede double digits in that game. Some of the defending was absolutely atrocious especially against cross balls.

Some decent moves going forward but off the ball the midfield looks like the first team, just got totally bullied and no one can tackle.

See at 17 or 18 years of age? I would hope our academy prospects weren't at the level where they were getting regularly rattled by teams in the Lowland League.

Need to get as many of these players out from an early, early age with experienced pros.

Clubs are allowed a co op agreement with 1 club in the Championship, 1 club in league 1 and 1 club in league 2. They are allowed to have 3 players at a time out on loan at each of these clubs so that's potentially 9 players out playing at a higher level than lowland league.

We took our usual half-arsed approach and are 1 of only 4 premiership clubs who have only 1 co op club, the other 3 are the 2 promoted clubs and Dundee, and even then we've only bothered to send 2 players to aye rather than the allowed 3.

Absolutely everything we do is a a * shambles.

Genuinely don't know if there's ever been a club in more need of a competent director of football than we are.

Is it not just one club in the Scottish leagues we can have that loan deal with arrangement with at a time??

No mate, 1 in each of the 3 leagues. League 2 is probably * standard but most teams have a championship club and a league 1 club
