Right here is the beauty of football. I actually see the reverse. I see Scales as not having 100% faith in his passing ability, and that's why most of his passes are behind his intended target. No doubt CCV is off form. Scales has had some very good games but will cost us dearly more often than not against top tier opposition. He is not now and never has or will be our best CB. Again, stats can do one as far as I'm concerned. I base my opinions on watching games of football.

CcV doesnt look smooth on the ball at all. Hes solid. Scales is solid. Infact both are very solid CBs. We should change system so our CBs can be just that. CBs. Let the midfield do the passing stuff.

If we found defenders that defended as solidly as these two, with skills of modric then theyd be playing for Madrid etc. Iv never seen us have more a solid defence. I honestly blame the system right now that forces them to be some type of midfield masters from CB.

I personally think there's a fairly big difference between a (probably playful) joke about a fictional character in a username and avatar (which doesn't necessarily imply any lack of respect for people with learning difficulties) and using a reference like that as an insult (which obviously does imply disrespect).

I agree with you that Scales is underrated; but I genuinely think CCV is underrated too.

That sounds mental, as nearly everyone rates him and acknowledges that he is very good; but I honestly don't think folk realise just how good he is when fully fit. I often find myself watching him when he's fully fit and wondering how on earth we have held on to him so long. Then I remember his injury record.

Whenever someone challenges you they’ve “misinterpreted” and have an “ego”. There is no debate, it’s just you repeating yourself and peddling the same pish then playing the victim card. Look how many people across this thread, the CCV thread the Ralston/AJ thread call you out.

    You’re severely lacking self awareness.

You’ve been in this forum for 3 months, what are you talking about people like us ruin the forum? The forum was fine before you were here and it’ll be fine after you’ve gone.

    “Case Closed”.

How did you manage to turn that on to someone else, when you are the scumbag that said it? You really are a little rat.

Brass neck :giggle1: it’s not case closed at all, there was no case against @Officer Doofy. You just attempted to drum up some fake outrage because you were caught out… again. If you can’t see the difference between his username and your comment, then I suggest you have a wee think.

Bang on. Forum has went massively down hill since that fud joined and started spamming every thread with constant *.

Every reply is paragraphs long, his opinions are absolutely nonsense too. Yet to find anyone who agrees with any of the * he says.

Take this thread he posted some bullshit story from a journalist no * had heard of and here we are 2 days and 5 pages later and he's still going on about it.

Worst of all he genuinely believes Liam Scales is the best CB at the club. * an absolute *

I'm all for opposing view points and debates personally. It's what it's all about. If everyone just keeps it civil and non-personal then noone has to read threads full of grown men calling each other names on the internet.

I was the first person on this forum to welcome @Agathe17 as a new member three months ago.

The guy has posted many sensible and pragmatic posts since then, and he has been an asset to the forum, but you and your gang of bully bawbags have hounded him since he joined.

Give it a fucken rest and let the guy be. :50:

For what it is worth, on current form I think Liam Scales is performing better than CCV just now, and that is probably down to a number of issues I feel, like niggling injuries and fitness levels, but I do think CCV and Scales is the best CB partnership we have had in years.

The amount of time Scales and CCV are in possession is a problem for us. Neither are very good on the ball yet they spend large chunks of the game in possession.

As an example - in the last game against Motherwell - Scales and CCV had more passes and just shy of the same amount of touches as the entire rest of our midfield (including subs) combined. They had by far the most touches and passes of any players on the pitch.

When you consider we often have close to 80% possession in games domestically that translates into an awful lot time Scales and CCV are in possession of the ball in games. Its no surprise our football is so laboured at the moment.

I also think thats part of the reason CCV has looked in decline and more error prone. Hes spending so much time on the ball now that he will noticeably make more errors. It was never his strength. Games where we had less possession but he was required to do more defending in showcased his abilities more.

CCV is a level above Scales on the defensive side of the game for me. He probably missed out on a move to a better quality league due to his ability on the ball. The defensive side of his game was certainly good enough I think.

    You’re absolutely the same person.

The quick switch from playing victim and name calling to “anyway Scales”.

    So similar it’s scary.

Lets not forget, he’s the one that came in claiming people had egos and were misunderstood when his posts were easily picked apart in August. Claiming people didn’t understand football.

It’s not bullying. He absolutely brought this on himself and then topped it off today with a post he had to delete. A post he didn’t take accountability for and actually tried to shift the heat to someone else.

Complete scumbag. Last I’ll say on it.

Cameron Carter-Vickers admits he’s relishing playing alongside Liam Scales at the heart of Celtic's defence.

The defensive duo have formed a formidable partnership this season, conceding just three league goals.

Irishman Scales was once the whipping Bhoy for fans who felt Celts should have upgraded at the back.

But the stopper is silencing his critics week by week by emerging as one of Brendan Rodgers’top performers.

And CCV said: "Yeah, I think Scalesy has done great. Carl [Starfelt] left what three years ago now? Scalesy has kind of been been playing since then.

"I think especially a club of this size and with these demands, if you're in the team consistently, you're obviously doing a lot of things right.

He has been and he's continuing to improve. I think he reads the game well.

“Having played so much together, we now understand each other's games and can almost play without having to really communicate too much.

"He's good on the ball, clean on the ball and a good passer."

Scales almost found himself out of the door when he returned from a loan stint from Aberdeen in 2023.

But a defensive crisis saw the ex-Shamrock Rovers defender thrown into the deep end and he’s never looked back.

Carter-Vickers said: “Yeah, he does deserve credit. I think if you know Scalesy, he's resilient and he's got a good character to him.

So that's no surprise really to me. But it's also football. Things change quickly in football, and for me, it changed positively.

“As a team defensively, we've been pretty good. We conceded two goals to Motherwell and Braga, but apart from those games, we've been pretty consistent defensively.

I am not going to comment on another's person's posts, not my style mate.

I am sure @Agathe17 can look after himself and answer for himself, without me helping him.

But I like to see fair play.

But you are skating on thin ice mate, by keep accusing me and @Agathe17 as being the same person.

I would take your own advice and say no more about it, if I was you.
