Thanks pal. I took a few but the light was going down. I've been a bit under the weather lately so haven't been out and about the same. To top it all I had my flu jag this morning :56:I pop in here now and again and I'm loving all the contributions. We're seeing some signs of the bird life returning to normal here. For a while there was a distinct absence or lessening of many species of birds/ducks/waders and gulls. Plenty of big fat seals around though. Since stopping work I'm being practically dragged out to walk:56:It's a * getting up in the mornings now :52: I'm going through a major reset :50: No doubt the passion for photographing the local wildlife will return :50:

Waiting at the lights at Glasgow Fort this morning, I noticed a Gull , standing alone, that looked a wee bit different to the normal Gulls we see. Then I realised it was a Common Gull. It's my first Common Gull in a wee while. They're quite rare here to to see one was superb.

Was planning on going to a nearby nature reserve where pink footed geese usually arrive at this time of year but with this weather I may delay it!!!

As much as seeing 1000's of Pink Footed Geese is amazing, you may be right in delaying it Colin. The weather is awful.

Old dad took another bad fall yesterday folks, flat on his face again. This time outside lidl while on his evening walk. A lovely couple from Bristol helped him and sat with him till the ambulance arrived. Still doesn't want to get a stick which is fair enough but the old da has me worried sometimes. I told him he's staying indoors because he's a jittery auld focker.
Sending best regards to you all and your families.

Sorry to haer that BA. Hope he gets better soon. I do know about the refusal to use a stick though. I use a stick now, but only because my arthritic knee got really bad. At first, I was the same. I struggled until it finally got too much. Ask him to try using a stick, even it's only in the garden or just outside your door. He might realise it's something he'd be better off with

Thanks John, I think you are right and if he got a stick i'd feel a lot less worried for when he goes out. He's always quite proud and tells me where he's been walking with a big smile. At his age I cant take for granted that these falls could be so much worse, say if he he falls on his head instead of his face. Hopefully it wont take another fall before he finally wants a stick, I think its because he thinks his balance is fine but maybe doesn't realise that his legs are all jittery.
