Hopefully lifts his confidence and we get the best version until January. Then off he goes for about 5-10m less than we'd have got 4 weeks ago. Gross mismanagement.

Can't play on the right, need to forget that idea .

The one he passed straight out the park, jeez

Hopefully the goal sparks some life in him.

You're talking about nowhere near our level. It almost seems to be epitomised by Daizen Maeda out there. He was the best player in the country last year and won all the awards. As you said yourself, he's not been at his highest level this season, but he's still out there and scores that last-minute winner. How big a goal can that be for him?

He just deserves so much credit. I'd seen him before I came in here, and then for over two years now, he's given his heart and soul to this club. It's well documented what happened in the summer and that's not easy.

If it affects a player like him, then you know how deep it goes. But what he's done is he's turned up still every day. He's playing for me in probably the third position, if you asked him, because we have a gap on that side.

He's just got on with it. You see the difference the minute he comes over. His pressing, the intensity, everything changes for him.

I just felt he's the type that can nick you a goal. He gets in and a nice little move and he gets the goal. So, so happy for him and his family because he's given so much to this club and he will continue to do that. But a great night and evening for him now.

The tendency with Daizen this season, when he's been on the right, he's maybe not been as productive in the last few games. But when he's on the left and in the middle, he looked more like himself last season. Is that something you're going to be persisting with going forward?

I don't really know. I don't really know. We're constantly trying to find... If you put him on the left, then... not unless you can play on the right, can you?

But yes, there's no doubt. His left side and middle is where his strength lies. But it's the continuous job of looking to find the solutions. I think that normally over the course of pre-season, you're finding out all these things, and then you arrive into your season and you're ready.

We haven't been able to do that, so you have to find out within the games themselves because we're playing mid-week games. There's hardly any training. So that's something I need to see in this period of games, which I have done. Now we can go forward from there.

His reactions in the goals he’s scored since the transfer fiasco tell a story. The guy loves Celtic. In his eyes the EPL is what he wants but he certainly still cares.

He was absolutley shocking the first 20 minutes. Turning back, passing back, bad touches.

Also didn't look to be bothering his *, just walking about in possession, not pressing anybody.

You can label his head being wobbled at him, playing pish and even not doing the right things but he’s never, ever, walked about and not pressed anyone for Celtic. Guys poured his heart and soul into playing for us and continues to do so.

He's a good instinctive finisher when he doesn't have too much time to think about it, that's now a few headers he's scored this season too, really hope Brendan finds a different system after the break to get him and Iheanacho into a strike partnership together

MOTM - that's laughable quite frankly, he was rank rotten until the goal.
Attitude is fine, but footballing ability is so poor.

Japan National Team: Daizen Maeda likely to miss match against Paraguay, adjusting for a different training regimen due to "discomfort" in his left foot

Japan national soccer team (ranked 19th in the FIFA rankings) forward Daizen Maeda is experiencing discomfort in his left foot and is likely to miss the match against Paraguay.

He took part in the huddle at the start of practice, but was left out of the whole team training and was given a separate training menu. "I felt something was off today. I practiced yesterday too, so I decided to stop," he revealed. At Celtic this season, he requested a transfer, which led to a lot of criticism from those around him. "I've decided to stay, so I think I'll just do it." He scored the winning goal with a diving header in the match against Motherwell on the 5th, and is back in form.

Forgot that he went his head for the winner on Sunday which was kind of mental when the ball was all of 2 feet off the ground.

That he went for his head tells me he had made his mind up prior to the cross coming in and just matched the height of the ball. Can be quite easy to miss chances when you overthink it or second guess yourself.
