This US Open has been great so far. Alcaraz in unreal form today against Lehecka. Must be soul destroying playing Carlos when he's in that sort of mood.

 

Sabalenka is some bit of gear man

 

* brilliant final from Alcaraz. Most dominant I've seen him against Sinner in a final.

 

Djokovic, in spite of his age, is still a force to be reckoned with. It's amazing he's still competing at such a high level and reaching grand slam finals with relative ease. Alcaraz & Sinner are obviously the two best in the world right now and in a league of their own, but hopefully Fonseca & Mensik can keep improving and able to go toe to toe with those two soon.

 

Good to see Musetti improving on hard courts. Such a phenomonal talent. Plays with such grace and elegance. Good-looking *, too.
Hope he goes on to win a slam soon, as he has the talent (and, just as importantly, the momentum).

 

Why the * does former number 1 Daniil Medvedev struggle so much against Learner Tien??? So baffling! Anyone know??

Ps: They have produced some great matches, though. So, all forgiven!

Djokovic doing Djokovic things in Shanghai (amidst sweltering evening conditions of 27 degrees Celsius; must be gruelling as * playing in those conditions at peak time through the day with no air conditioning). Another 1000 masters semi-final looking very likely (though Bergs will push him all the way here). The absolute goat. He may not have had the elegance and grace of Federer, but he's categorically the goat statistically. Hope he can win that elusive 25th grand slam.

 

Federer complaining that tournaments are ensuring courts are slow to ensure a sinner v alcarez final, as has happened the last five times both have entered the same tournament, a bit like CL seedings ensure similar winners year on year

 

Funnily enough I think they started doing that during the Fed v Nadal era

 

The courts and different playing surfaces did become more homogenised in their era, but it was more done to make rallies and matches longer for spectators.

 

I always get that Wimbledon fever and start getting right back into tennis. But for some reason can just never keep up with it.

Really just not into the ATP roster anymore. Feels as if there aren't enough truly top players anymore. When it matters it will aways be Alcaraz or Sinner getting the job done.

 

I agree. As good as Alcaraz and Sinner are I am finding the tour really boring

 

Think it's going to be a Djokovic vs Medvedev final in Shanghai. Medvedev's new coaching team have definitely improved the big man (coming to the net more) and he's serving like a demon again too. I think Medvedev will actually win it.
