He offers far more in terms of his all round play than we’ve seen from our strikers in a long time.

Pure goalscoring was something he was never going to come in and do like a Kyogo.

His link up play and ability to bring others into the game us something we’ve missed for years. It’s so refreshing.

I wasn't that familiar with his all round game so that has been great to see as well as his obvious enthusiasm. All I knew when we signed him was he had not played much for a while and even during his years of success at Leicester he didn't score that many goals (61 goals in 232 matches) so I wasn't excited about his signing as a result. I still doubt he is the long term answer for us as our main 9 but for now he has done well.

I actually think if Daizen got his shooting boots back on the two of them could form a formidable front two.

Iheanacho coming off the front linking play and Maeda looking to get on beyond and off the ball just generally terrorising the opposition defence.

The problem is we have no depth beyond them since Rodgers doesn’t fancy Yamada and Kenny is no where near the level.

To be fair I was expecting an overweight, disinterested player who would take a few months to get up to speed and even then I thought it had disaster written all over it.

Been very surprised. Actually think a Toumenkti, Iheanacho and Jota front 3 has a nice look to it. Just missing a top midfielder.

If he would get Iheanacho and Maeda playing off each other we could certainly add some potency back to our attacks.

Iheanacho has the footwork and skill to play football and hold the ball, Maeda can be the play on instinct partner who scores those random goals like that winner against Motherwell where there is essentially no thought, just run and attack ball, ball go in net.

I don’t blame him for not fancying Yamada or Kenny.

The two of them could be useful backups but there’s a clear gap in ability between them and Iheanacho. Three totally different strikers though, so really they each have their uses and a front two could be more effective.
