Bosun Lawal has completed his £2million move to Stoke City.

The versatile defender - who played in midfield last season for Fleetwood Town on a successful loan stint - has been training with the Hoops first-team this summer with a view to making it into more squads under Brendan Rodgers. However after the Potters made a move for the 21-year-old, the manager accepted game time would be hard to come by.


Lawal opted to depart Parkhead to find minutes elsewhere and Stoke City in the EFL Championship were quick to make their desires to sign the player clear and they moved swiftly to get it done.


Football Scotland told you last week how the Irishman had already completed his medical down south and now the move has been confirmed. Add-ons could take the deal closer to the £3m mark.

But seriously, hope he does well and we've got a decent sell on attached, was hoping he'd get a chance this season but obviously BR didn't see him fitting in.

Nominated for Championship player of the month and got Stoke's player of the month.

Seems to be playing as a centre half at the min, guy clearly has a decent bit of potential but I think the competition at CB would have been too much for him to make the breakthrough here and I think he was always going to be too raw on the ball to play in midfield for us.

Looks like he will go on to have a good career though, hopefully there's a sell on fee (though what's the point when it won't be reinvested) as he could easily go for £15-20m if he has a big season in the Championship and given his age too.
