Thats exactly what it is and lets face it none of us I think believe for a minute what they said. There is no question that Lawwell should be sacked for that backstabbing hit piece on Rodgers or if it was another director he should be named and fired. That kind of behaviour has no place in any properly run club end of story.

The team need the support. Think silences and booing only affects the team. The teflon board don't give a *.

Stop buying at the shops, stop buying Paradise Windfall tickets and programs at the stadium and l know someone said earlier that the food kiosks don't belong to Celtic but if there's no income going through them there will be a knock on effect and also Adidas might have something to say

Go to the games but starve them of extra money...........they don't spend it anyway

Wait.... Let me get this right...

    - We bid x amount for a player, chosen by * knows who btw.

    -The bid is rejected. Naturally.

-We then "up" our bid, usually by pittance, whilst the transfer clock runs down.

    - If the receiving club make clear a minimum price, or we understand only amount X+ 2 etc will be entertained.... And this amount exceeds a board set "Threshold", then AN EMAIL MUST BE SENT to "certain board members" to get the go ahead.

So effectively, "board members" , with ZERO * FOOTBALL experience, are deciding which players are worth which money, and which players we should and can sign.

This explains so * much. The lateness of our business. The paltry and insulting bids to clubs. Why there is no DoF (he woupd have to be budgeted and the chance of saving money os minimal) , The loss of potential players like McGinn et al... EVERYTHING.

I really didnt think this * board could shock me anymore. Truly.

    Wrong.

    ITS TIME FOR * WAR.

Theyve just shot themselves in the foot with that meeting. Laid bare their incompetence and arrogance, and displayed their utterly preposterous transfer strategy.

I think what’s scunnered me above all else here is they’ve not only shown their incompetence but they’ve actually admitted there is no intention to progress at all.

Many suspected it for years and many people argued that was nonsense (and credit to them for conceding the point now).

But honestly this will kill it for me. I totally respect there’s people that go to Celtic park every week with no ambition past the 90 minute match. There’s nothing wrong with that.

But it’s not how I engage with Celtic. To me (and I suspect many others) it’s about building over the years. They showed this season they’re not doing that, and I feel what we’ve heard the last few days is as close as we’ll get to a verbal confirmation.

    This.

The fact that they walked into that meeting, and literally CELEBRATED the methods in which they operate, completely oblivious to their own ineptitude, and arrogant enough to dismiss any and all viewpoints which differ from theirs, is game over for me.

They simply dont get it. Theyre incapable of doing so.

    Theyve GOT TO GO.

All of them. Every last one of them.

Stop with the incompetence talk. This is all 100% intentional and within normal operations in their eyes. They will not change their policy even when given evidence that it is wrong.

Oust them with whatever it takes.

Who's the one they need to "ask permission" when bidding even below a million? That person seems to be the problem. We need a set budget and work with it without asking for permission even for under £1m ffs. That guys making most of them look incompetent.

We all know that's lawell. Id bet my life on it.

No suprise the year he wasnt in was the fastest and best transfer window in a decade.

Gotta ask, who's setting the originally allowed offer?
Let's say it's PL and he is allowing MN to bid 800k for McCowan - who's also been told to go above it he needs to get approval again.
So he goes through the above scenario.

Why even bother * paying MN a wage and PL just do the * job (which he also shouldn't be doing but let's play along in this one), or give all this power to Tiadale? Why are we paying a wage to these two guys of PL is the one needing to approve everything?

The entire thing is run * poorly.

Seems like MN is trying with both hands tied. A puppet as you will. Brought in purely to take the heat away from lawell once we slipped him back in. No suprise the only greatest windows in years was when he wasnt involved.

It is this in a nutshell. I expected their arrogance but its wild to think that this was their attempt to show competence and they managed to only highlight how bad they really are.

My pet peeve is when they deliberately throw in complex sounding topics as a means to explain failings but actually cannot explain themselves. For example they refer to 'european tax law' because they know none of us are european tax law experts. But then if anyone asked in layman terms why said laws stops us replacing Kuhn or Kyogo they wouldnt have an answer. As if european tax law only applies to Celtic!

They are absolute chancers who have found themselves in the easiest roles they could ever hope for and they are winging it.

Until the person (s) who are running the clubs strategy as primarily a plc are removed then we are stuck.

Everything about how we are run points to a system that puts the plc first.

Desmond, unfortnately, appears to derive his main satisfaction from celtic through the lens of growing celtic as a financially secure business. Most of the interviews he gives are heavy on his pride of celtics finanial position and stability. Theres seldom anything about vision for the team. No sense of wanting to establish the club in europe.

I suspect lawell is the person implenting this strategy which puts the plc above the needs of the team and bases decision making around the impact to the plc.

Nicholson and mckay look to have been exposed as not fit for purpose but i also think replacing them will not get to the heart of the matter without our majority shareholder displaying more ambition and empowering a new chairman to realise it.

"Tax laws in foreign countries" :56:

Is that exclusive to only Celtic? Does that not apply to Club Brugge, Ajax, Feyenoord, Porto, Benfica?

They've paid £18m roughly in corporation tax happily last 2 summers instead of reinventing it on the stadium, squad, infrastructure.

So how they can complain about foreign tax is mental and shows how dysfunctional they actually are.

They think we're stupid enough to believe that these things ONLY APPLY to Celtic.

    Ffp
    Inflation
    Difficult markets
    Now... European tax laws.

    As you say. Complete CHANCERS.

Theres Sevco up the street, pure skint splashing 10m on ONE player. They dont ever seem to have to deal with these issues, despite ACTUALLY being skint, and ACTUALLY on the ffp list.

Meanwhile they bank OUR transfer fees, hoarde the cash, cry poverty and blame arbitrary financial restraints; THAT EVERY * CLUB IN EUROPE has to negotiate around.

European tax law. * me. The * brass neck to even try to use that pish as an excuse.

Such a easy fix for them but their friends working at the club is more important than anything for them.

Lets say they sacked Lawwell and invited the fan groups on a regular basis and spended a fair amount of money in jan/summer, that would calm the storm down straight away.

Celtic are a exceptional example of a Jobs for the boys organisation.

I said years ago the Celtic Board would never allow continuing success as it wasn't good for business. It was all about self sabotage when they felt that the time was right for it and the circle we are trapped in would repeat again. They only wanted us to get so far for things to remain profitable within our sphere. People back them poo pooed that idea saying that there was no way the club didn't want continued success. History is doomed to repeat itself with us.

Take the last time around with BR and SG. They soured the water with BR forcing him to walk away and before he did so we were seeing a lack of desire to the point that the huns with the inept SG actually got a win in their last game against us. Can anyone see this happening again? I can because here we are again. BR will walk away again unless something miraculous occurs. He's brought it all out into the open and to some extent has lead the charge for people to put the board under fierce scrutiny. He can't survive that.......Generals who lead the charge seldom become the winner.
