Even the one he arguably got wrong came right in the end.

When he subbed Tounetki instead of Maeda there was booing, I think as * were wanting Maeda subbed after 20 minutes and then the start of the 2nd half he made a couple of mistakes as well, one of them I think he passed the ball out the park and the roof nearly came off the stadium with people going mental.

Tbf to him, it took a lot of balls not to take off Maeda when he was struggling on the right..

Then his other sub scoring and the other assisting Maeda..

His decision making won us the game..

Come on Brendan. Ditch this 4-3-3 mate

Always backed him and loved the recent PC's and the digs he have thrown about at the board but the dance floor is his now. The board have * up and he should get this team performing much, much better than what we have seen so far.

For me he has had a hand tied behind his back this season but he still needs to be getting more of those that are here.

I can understand the volume of changes because of the 2 games a week and still trying to find the right formula but I think he needs to pick a team post break and stick with it, let relationships form and then tweak from there.

I think there is a feeling that Brendan needs to get on with it and find a way to get the team firing to a reasonable level.

Guys like Iheanacho, Balikwisha, Engels, Bernardo, Hatate and McGregor will all be around so to me, it’s important to get them to try and get them all ready to go when we come back.

The changes definitely helped us. Made at a critical time too. Got to give Rodgers credit for them.

I've been slating him lately but his subs got us the win yesterday.

See where he basically says the line about Maeda playing right wing out of necessity due to not having a right winger. We all know we are limited out there but no one is forcing him to keep playing with wingers.

I do wonder could we not look at more of a 4-1-3-2 where the middle 3 is more of two wide attacking midfielders? Roles that Nygren, Balikwisha, Hatate even could all play? Stick McGregor in the middle and have one of Engels or Bernardo play with him.

Width comes from full backs and put Maeda up top with Iheanacho.

It’s only one suggestion but we really need to mix it up a bit.

That's the biggest criticism for me.. he used to mix up more in his first spell..

He seems rigid in the 4-3-3 he inherited from Ange, but the inverted fullbacks made that system..

Our predictability also makes us easy to analyse and set-up against.

Its very frustrating, like I say credit where its due for his subs yesterday but the initial team selection was predictably uninspiring. You could tell after 10mins, the game was going to be tight.

His use of subs is normally always spot on, rarely they don’t make an impact when required to do so.

I’ve stuck up for him loads in terms of working with his hands tied but we’re at the stage now where he is going to have to tweak his system. It’s not on him those above are so incompetent/negligent but if he continues to fit square pegs into round holes and doesn’t get results and performances out the players then that is on him. It’s clear he doesn’t have the options available within the squad to play the system he wants to so he needs to adapt

    Iheanacho
I'd play this and think it fixes a few problems.

    1. Would let us play out from the back easier with 2 deeper midfielders as options.
    2. Would allow McGregor to get forward more which he's good at but rarely does when he is deeper alone
    3. Tounetki is having to beat 3 men every time he gets the ball, Engels could ping balls from deeper and the right to him to bring a new dimension and get Tounetki on the ball quicker up against one guy
    4. Balikwisha is never a wide player, he's a nice technical player with good control and vision and someone who plays 1 touch football etc play him as a 10 he is also a good energetic and defensive player who can press etc when Iheanacho can't press
    5. Engels and Balikwisha both in the middle would bring a new style as they both have good vision and awareness of players around them and pass a ball forward more, the current midfielders always turn about and pass it side and back and are trapped into that type of play.

Only one guy out of position really would be Nygren who isn't really suited to playing on the wing but at times we could get Engels down the right wing where he's quite effective and puts in a good cross so Nygren can cut inside where he is also very effective around the corner of the box.

This is our best team imo untill Jota and AJ is back. Have been question marks for me to puzzle the team together but this is it.

I would be very happy if Rodgers stays because it seems the only way that happens is if we see positive change at the board level with Lawwell, Nicholson and McKay gone and Celtic actually showing ambition.

I think you are right mate.:50:

That's the team and that's the formation, and Brendan should stick to it, none of this chopping and changing all the time.

The 4-2-3-1 is absolutely perfect for this team. That's why persisting with the 4-3-3 has been hawding up the works.

It could really get our season going turbo charged if Brendan adopts this, and I would imagine that team would also blow the Huns away in the Cup Semi too. :50:

Need to find a working solution to right wing and quickly. Tounekti there and Maeda on his better left side another option but would be happy playing Nygren as a right sided 10 as well.

Forrest and Yang, goodness me, hopefully someone raised those RW options today as a case in point.
