I know he's not free of blame..

However, it has to be remembered, we had a transfer window that was a major catalyst for the fanbase to unite for the first time in decades, against the board.

His record speaks for itself and we haven’t lost a domestic game as of yet. Talk of sacking him is absolute nonsense.

It may not be our best season but he'll get us over the line domestically and then after that it's probably best we look in another direction, but only if there's changes in the boardroom. If we have the same on the board then Rodgers will continue to be our best bet as we couldn't trust them to employ better.

Braga was the first time I've seen Rogers change the system - is the penny finally dropping?
He can't stubbornly continue with his like for like 4-3-3 sub approach - especially with low quality squad we currently have.

A bit of imagination goes a long way Brendan.
Might want to change your #6 next?

I think the change of system was borne more out of desperation, than any great tactical awakening on the manager's part.

If he had started the game with the 3-5-2 system, then I think we could safely say he was going there.

It's such basic common sense though as well. Ally Mcoist made the same point in the commentary of the hun game. Nice to have a system but if you don't have the players for it then play a system that suits the squad you do have.

If you find yourself on the same side of an issue as Ally McCoist, it might be time to ask yourself what you are overlooking.

Oliver Glasner also emphasises there habits, which are very important and often overlooked with the various discussions on stats/systems jargon

A good manager will recognise each individual player's habits, and try to fit and integrate them into a transitional system/systems, that best suits the players currently at his disposal. Key word there is also fluid, the transitional system must be fluid enough, so that it can be tweaked during a match which is running away from us, like the Braga game for instance, but also does not negatively impact player's habits.

Not an easy task by any means, but that is what successful managers get paid for.

In this case it feels like he's stating the bleeding obvious. What are we overlooking?

I'll never understand why managers try to stubbornly stick to certain systems when it's clear that style of football isn't working. I honestly just have no idea what they have to gain from sticking by something that's clearly bringing them negative results and press.

Surely it benefits them to experiment more and try to deviate from what might be perceived to be their philosophy. The argument is probably that it's an ego thing. But if you change things up and try a different system that suits your players more, you'll get so much credit for adapting and utilising your assets.

I've never seen a manager go on a massive winning run and be slammed for switching from a failed style of play.

Systems, formations, tactics are one thing, but sticking by players who are no longer producing the goods is another, and continually playing favourites despite losses of form is both detrimental and injurious to our silverware prospects and team spirit.

If Brendan continues to select players on reputation alone and continues to disregard their blatant shortcomings, and I'm thinking of the likes of Schemeichel, Tierney, Hatate and McGregor in particular, then it tells me he does not have the guts and balls to drop them, and he will be playing right into the hands of our opponents this year.

It's no surprise to me, that we find ourselves five points behind in the league, out of the Champions League, and struggling even in the Europa, because that is exactly what he has been doing.

Don’t let the Brendan Brendan Brendan hoax cloud your viewpoint.

Continue to focus on the place where the blame lies.

Enough of both to get through and win big games. The derby goals from Kyogo, Bernardo were quality, Maeda forcing the tavernier mistake was the energy, last year we had quality til December then hit a slide but most of the frontline wanted away. Year 3 you can't pinpoint any moments of quality or energy. Same as 3rd season last time. Took Christie emerging to give us a boost mid October that year

The marauding runs of Oli Burke up and down the pitch hold fond memories of season 3 under Brendan from his first spell
