Aye i think we're now past the point of over relying on McGregor, who clearly doesn't have the legs anymore.

He's not quite at the stage of Brown during the covid season yet, but he's not far off it.

This has to be his last season starting for us, he slows us down so much now (not that any of our midfielders are quick bar McCowan)

You just know we're going to be throwing daft money at EPL loans in January to try and see us over the line, with no forward planning whatsoever in place.

Best thing would be for him, and the board, to go and start afresh.

Deserves a bit more time for me, but needs to turn things around almost immediately, the leeway from the board * ups this summer will only last so long

Why does he deserve more time? Regardless of anything else he won't be here next season.

Because he is a good manager and he has been dealt a rough hand this summer, I will wait until after the next international break and judge then

In all honesty I've been complaining about his poor management for ages, so I don't see that being close to being true.

Tonight is one of the worst displays I've seen in Europe from a Celtic team, and on team ability it's far higher than most I've watched over the years. On that basis I'm going to say the most obvious failing is the manager. So I don't agree he's particularly good at the moment. Not to say he hasn't been in the past, but he's pretty * now. Going through the motions really.

This is true. Dunno if that was out of absolute necessity rather than any sort of tactical nous tho but it's a start. Doesn't excuse all the the times he could have changed things up to get a result in the recent past tho. Just scunnered with us atm and everyone is getting it pretty much.

I've been giving him a bit of of a free pass due to everything that's been going on but that last night was a step too far for me. He's got to take a large portion of the blame. Don't know why Bernardo appears in the team out of nowhere and shock, horror he's average to poor, offering very little. Murray has been getting talked up all season.by him, doesn't get 1 minute of game time for weeks on end, even against Thistle when we are cruising then shock, horror he looks rusty when chucked on in a major European game. Same for an alternative striker option. Kenny & Shin might not be what we want but they are what we have so give one of them game time prior to this.

That's before we get to his rigid tactics, lack of imagination and inability to change a game. The old plan B is to do plan A better philosophy. Our change of formation last night felt like it was through gritted teeth and hence probably not worked on prior to the game.

Questions rightly being asked of Rodgers here. His in game management has fallen off a cliff and his stubbornness regarding certain/players and formations is ridiculous now.

But with that, Kennedy, Strachan need punted. They have been through too many manager cycles and the staleness we see won't be helped by these hangers-on.

Rodgers, if he stays should be looking at refresh behind the scenes. New ideas, new vision. Cause the squad looks lost and devoid of any style, charisma, ideas or personality.

A total revamp needed. But sadly way off with the incompetent arseholes we have in charge.

The summer window was laughably bad, nobody is denying that. It doesn't give him a free pass for playing cautious and risk averse football. If anything, he should be telling this team to play more direct because of it. Quality of player is lacking, so why try and get them to play tikitaka football?

Winning is all that matters and scoring goals should be the priority, not patterns of play, triangles in the full back areas possession at all costs etc etc that Rodgers loves to coach into them. Find a way to score and win, simple.

He's overcomplicating the game and every opposition coach knows how he sets up - no wonder we're so easy to play against. Tounekti looks the brightest spark because he's just in the door and playing his own game, not the one the rest are regimented into, playing like robots with no initiative.

He needs to earn his money.

In all honestly this is like watching his Liverpool side just before he got the sack.

It’s that bad, absolutely terrible football and no clue in Europe either.

This keeping the ball and passing it back pish is killing us.

Still not sure if i would want to keep him. I think we need to refresh the whole club with a new manager, some board members, a bunch of players etc.

Maybe he would come good again if he got a new deal but i doubt it

    Doubt it.
Ideal scenario is new chairman, ceo, dof and head of recruitment. Don't want to make all those positive changes only to be then stuck watching his side to side, keep possession at all costs, * football.

Same thing happened at Leicester as well. Worth remembering he got them relegated with a good squad of players mainly due to the dire style of play and inability to defend set pieces.

For EPL standards that’s a stretch to say the very least. They had also sold big players and replaced them with junk. Sounds a bit familiar actually.

My patience being tested with Brendan now. Like most, I have given him a pass based on the complete lack of support in the background operation.

That doesn't excuse getting beat by a poor braga team at home.

What's worse, it wasn't just a defeat. We looked outplayed majority of the game. That is more cause for concern than the actual result.

Think we need to really buckle up this year. It's going to be a long long season

Like the Martin O'Neill side travelling down on the coach to Old trafford for a friendly taking bets on who'd slap Beckham first

Think Hearts have scored a goal from a set piece near enough every week and their new set piece coach is getting lots of plaudits.

So that's definitely a worry for us going there in a few weeks
