I’m not reading all that, a quick scan proves it’s not worth a response. Plus I’m not getting into a back and forth with a compulsive liar.

You won't read it because it exposes you as a bluffer. You have a very low bar for CCV. The video is there from the Red Star game and he made two really poor errors that resulted in conceding a corner that led to the goal. You reckoned he was immense in that game. He was far from it.

As for not slaughtering Scales, here's you in a game we kept a clean sheet and he won MOTM.

It's weird, he can be the best player on the pitch and you will spend the entire match bashing him. You don't understand football and seem to be have a severe ego when it comes to admitting you are wrong.

Arnautovic is 6”4, strong and good in the air. There wasn’t a massive risk in a knock down at the half-way line.

McGregor is slow to react to the header and doesn’t close the man down.

Donovan is caught way out of position and Nygren should recognise that. CCV could well assume Nygren is covering RB as he moves more narrow. He tries to block the pass, hardly a swipe… then he makes an important block.

Your basic understanding of football is worrying for someone who is very interested in analysis and statistics.

Scales makes a bad mistake 41mins into the game. Completely misreading the flight of the ball, loses Arnautovic and he almost scores a worldy. They were still both excellent in the game.

    That’s far from slaughtering.

That was in moment of a game he almost let Miovski make him look *. Hence the comment.

Reacting to a moment in a game isn’t slaughtering, but I’ll admit the * comment is harsh… however it was a major mistake against the Huns. Everything else I said I’ll stand by.

Edit: The irony in the bold bit, hahahah. Brilliant.

In order to defend CCV from the two poor mistakes he made you have blamed McGregor, Donovan and Nygren for his mistakes. You are not objective. CCV made those mistakes, he actually puts his hand up to acknowledge it after conceding the corner.

CCV was very shakey that game and his mistake led to the goal. He was really poor tonight, he made a number of mistakes against Kairat. His form has dropped significantly this season, Europe particularly. Why should he not be subject to fair criticism? You bash Scales relentlessly but want to blame everyone else for CCVs mistakes - this is my issue with you. You are a propagandist.

CCV needs rested or something. Think he's carrying an injury or has some issues affecting him or something.

I thought he was poor for Arnautovic's goal. Didn't try to get goal side of him when the ball went wide.

And he looked really out of sorts when he lost the ball tonight near the centre circle and was so slow to get back.

Love the big guy, and do think he's our best CB since VVD, but he's not been at his best this season. Maybe rest him a bit more and give Murray more game time.

You were bashing him all game when he was our best player, on the other hand you are trying to blame other people for far more blatant and obvious mistakes by CCV.

Your arrogance and ego proves me correct with every post you make. You have the bar set very high for Scales where you bash him where he plays very well and you have the bar set very low for CCV you laud and eulogise over CCV in games he makes poor mistakes and looks shakey.

He definitely needs rested and rotated more often. Hopefully Trusty is fully fit again and we can play him instead.

Exactly, I'm beginning to think injury might have something to do with his unwillingness to compete in the air that I've noticed a lot recently. He needs taken out of the team for a period I think.

I’ve not blamed them :giggle1: I’ve assessed the entire sequence. Everyone mentioned played a part in that. You’ve just mentioned one player and you call me a propagandist.

I don’t bash Scales relentlessly. I was frustrated with him during the Aberdeen game and the Hun game. Rightly. Miovski made him look silly. I’ve given him credit where due since.

Look at the comments in here after the Hun game and after Red Star. You’re in the minority.

I will agree he needs rested but it’s not performance related, he’s obviously carrying something… which shows how good he is.

Edit: he didn’t put his hand up acknowledging it. He has an issue, he takes a knee and you see it in his face. Do you actually believe the lies you post?

You have. You have thrown the names of Nygren, Donovan and McGregor in there when it's CCV who has made not one but two errors in the concession of the corner v Red Star.

It's extremely strange behaviour and anyone who is reasonable and objective cannot notice how you are ever so eager to pin blame on Scales in games he plays well in and refuse to acknowledge any poor performances from CCV.

I thought CCV played well in the Rangers game and I think he's been ok for us domestically this season but in Europe he has looked miles off it, to the point where he is looking like a weak link.

If you were a reasonable person you would not have looked to blame McGregor or Nygren or Donovan for those CCV mistakes. You'd have recognised and acknowledged they were two really poor bits of defending and that's on CCV alone.

In a game where most people on here had Scales as our best player at Ibrox you spend the match bashing him.

I am balanced. I don't bash CCV, I will criticise him when he makes mistakes. I think his form has dipped and he should be taken out of the team for a bit. That doesn't mean he's a shocking defender. You on the other hand will not have a bad word said about CCV and will bash Scales at every opportunity. You're like a doe eyed fanboy, every thing has to be an extreme.

If there are scouts watching Celtic right now I think they would be far more likely to part with decent money for Scales than CCV as he is performing a level above him.

You’re not balanced. You hold Scales to a lower level than CCV. I hold them to the same standard, I said that in the Scales thread… This isn’t the wee guy just over from Ireland anymore. He’s an established player in the 1st team, so mistakes will be picked up.

The difference is CCV has more skin in the game than Scales. He’s built up such a strong reputation, Scales is currently doing that but he’s nowhere near the standard CCV set. That’s why the Kairat mistakes were forgiven and the Red Star “mistakes” are a reach… I’m not removing his participation in the build up, but you have to look at the entire sequence of play. Many factors lead to that, including him losing the header and failing to block the pass.

Ultimately he then stops the cross, conceding a corner. That’s a new sequence, we should have defended that. Schmeichel ends up in no mans land, Scales is hiding behind him and we don’t deal with it. Again, Scales and CCV were both excellent that night and that’s not a hot take.

People are well aware mistakes have creeped into CCV’s game. But they are minimal during a period the entire team is a shambles and he’s likely carrying an injury. That’s why most people are assessing the situation logically. Most people.

I get reactive during games. Things I say about Scales or anyone else for that matter shouldn’t be taken at face value. Negative or positive. What I say outwith a game, should be. Which is overwhelmingly positive about Scales, going back to him breaking into the team. A massive mistake in a Derby at Ibrox is going to bring an emotional response.

We all get emotional. You included.

Some really * passes, and whilst I loved his runs forwards tonight, they came to nothing, other than that one where he went beyond everyone else and didn't know what to do. That was embarrassing. And why should he?

Obviously cares, but obviously regressing in some major areas too, passing to team mates is not really something to brag about for professional footballers and even that went wrong at points for him.

More skin in the game is a completely nonsense statement. His standards have dropped massively, the only thing that matters now is his current form. CCV has made numerous massive mistakes in Europe for us in recent seasons. You don't get emotional about that so your excuses don't wash.

Anyone who is reasonable will see the hypocrisy and double standards you apply. You are extreme and inflexible in your views. In your mind Scales is a Diddy and should be at Aberdeen and CCV is an EPL level defender that we are blessed to have.

The reality is they are two solid defenders at a domestic level in Scotland. There's not a massive difference in level of ability between them.

You're also being very dishonest here in your account of Scales. You have bashed him during games, after games, before games. You have repeatedly stated what such a bad defender he is. You haven't been balanced on him, you've exercised an agenda against him, you have been partisan against him. At least have the humility to own it and how you went completely ott on the abuse you put his way.

On the Scales thread you are there consistently bashing him for minor things like misplacing a 20 yard pass - things CCV does too, frequently. I doubt you were emotional and bashing CCV when he passed a ball into his own net against Bruges last year or when he got caught on the ball against Lazio the year before. I doubt you were blaming him for Rangers getting their first win at a full Celtic Park in donkeys years when he went steaming out for a header and missed the ball and cost us the game.

You have the bar set low for CCV and extremely high for Scales which is why when CCV makes a mistake it's radio silence and when Scales makes a mistake you're out with a pitchfork.

You live in imagination land bud. You’re blatantly lying, creating a false narrative and telling me what I believe after I’ve clearly told you what my thoughts are.

You need time off the forum or off the internet. It’s clearly not good for you.

One of the best defenders I've seen at the club but no denying sloppiness has weeded itself into his game for the past season or two...

The defence has been the only well functioning part of our team this season so not sure why he's getting it in the neck now. Even their opener was a shot from 35 yards that Schmeichel should have easily saved.

    He's never a rcb in a back 3.

If we play that system he needs to be the one in the middle with 2 players either side better on the ball. Let him stay central and somewhat he does best, focus on defending
