trump threatens to move World Cup games from Democrat run cities

US President Donald Trump says he will move matches at the 2026 World Cup from any cities he thinks are unsafe.

"It will be safe for the World Cup," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. "If I think it isn't safe, we'll move it into a different city."
Trump was asked specifically about matches in the Democratic-run cities of Seattle and San Francisco. Both are due to host six games.
"If any city we think is going to be even a little bit dangerous for the World Cup, or for the Olympics, but for the World Cup in particular, because they're playing in so many cities, we won't allow it to go. We'll move it around a little bit," he said.

 

Not sure that would be his call to make.

This is his latest effort, after already saying that if any sanctions made against Israel. or that they are not allowed to compete to kick up more of a stink, or anyone from countries that qualify that the Trump administration doesn't like being made virtually impossible to get visas etc.

If FIFA had any integrity whatsoever, they should be assigning 90% of the games to Mexico and Canada instead, but of course not. FIFA and integrity are about as diametrically opposed as it gets, when there is the opportunity to sell out to sportswashing, which is exactly what the last couple of mens WC's have been.

 

Obviously Ireland won't be in the US next summer unlike 1994 but even if we were again unlike 1994 I won't be going to any games in the US.

Is there any safe cities in the US ?

 

Most major cities are very safe,pay no attention to clownshoe propaganda from the right

Seattle and San Fran especially so

In any event,most stadia are outside the cities anyway

Met life isn't in NYC and Gillete is far outside Boston

 

Aren't most of them built in the * end of nowhere as the land is cheap?

The Patriots stadium is nearly an hour from Boston

For games in New York people have to get bussed to New Jersey

20/30 thousand parking spaces around the Stadia aren't much use to foreign fans that won't be driving to the States

 

I actually want him to do it just * make an even bigger * out of that tournament being held over there in this climate.

 

World will be a better place when that clown leaves it.

The last World Cup held in a Stable country was 2006, the last 2 were held in Qatar and Russia, FIFA goes where the money is

 

For New York its literally a 20 minute train ride and for major tournaments they have extra trains and busses.

San Francisco and Boston are much more problematic as hosts and the fact that Chicago is not a host city over them is a farce
