The Red Sox have a very decent team. Shame Anthony and Mayer are both out injured but bright future. Imagine if they’d got a half decent return for Devers - I think that trade was awful. Not in the sense that they’ve missed him but they could have got a lot more imo.

All the pressure is on the Yankees.

 

I hated it at the time, because his numbers, but I get the feeling that trade was as much about getting an influence that was not great in the clubhouse, as well as being infliexible when the Sox needed him to play 1B, refusing to move from 3B, only to be DH but still refusing to play 1B... he goes to SF and lo and behold, plays 1B. But just as importantly, since Devers left Fenway, the numbers for the team overall have risen, so the trade has turned out to have reason and an net positive effect.

The only good thing that could come from the Yankees losing to a team with the most racist fanbase in baseball is that Aaron Boone will probably finally be fired

 

Eaton should have easily scored and Rafaela can’t bunt.

Cost them the game. Along with the completely anaemic offense.

 

if Volpe was fielding it Eaton might have had a small chance, but still not by much and Wells is a good defensive catcher
