He hasn’t really been good enough so far.

I think he will be another c.1m punt that floats about for a season, contributes zero, then moves on. Absolutely crazy we keep spending in this way

for a guy who registered a top speed higher than maeda its absolutely farcical that rodgers cant find a use for him over kenny, yang or forrest

So far isn't a particularly large sample, so not clear whether he's good enough or not.

Obviously someone is bringing in players without Rogers say so and he's giving a big * you they will sit in the stand and this shambles needs to be sorted out asap .

That doesn't really work for anyone though. Just makes Rodgers part of the problem.

First season the argument was he's not responsible for all transfers and had to work with what the club gave him, second season was pretty clear he was involved, but many claimed not entirely responsible, and this season it's that he should have final say for all transfers.

Now we are at the stage he doesn't have to work with what the club gives him and he's not responsible for his transfers.

Completely shambolic and Rodgers should take his fair share of the blame. * you isn't an acceptable response when you are being paid millions and your main charge is bringing success with the resources available.

If someone suggested a striker with 2 goals ij 21 in Japan to me in a recruitment meeting I’d slap their jaw off so not surprised he isn’t good enough

5 appearances is enough for an initial impression. I hope that impression changes.

Actually thought it was less. Take it some are off the bench and limited minutes? Regardless it does feel like a missed opportunity. Whether it is or not, who really knows.

I can't imagine Shin has had five appearances, unless we are counting pre season friendlies ?

I can only recall him playing a 15 minute cameo at Ibrox in a competitive match.

The whole set up feels like a shambles and we can only guess because the club doesnt tell us anything. Rodgers hasnt helped claiming that he has final say on players coming in, only to not use so many new faces when they do come in.

That said, his attitude may be that he needs to give the nod to someone because otherwise he ends up with nothing. Who knows.

Its getting depressing now that I generally always assume these kind of signings will be flops, refuse to get excited when we sign them, and shrung my shoulders when they disappear. It feels like a waste of everyones time.

Think the fact Rodgers has made a commitment to Kenny (new long term deal, talking him up in the press) has impacted Shin's involvement. Heard on a podcast the other day that Kenny is * off at not being involved recently (maybe why he was brought on at the weekend), so I'd guess Rodgers has backed himself into a corner there.

That aside, considering the lack of options up top there's no reason to not have Shin involved in the squad. He's had a few appearances, two goals that were unlucky to be chopped for offside, and some good energy and pace on show. It's farcical bombing the lad out imo, it's so blatant that it's more political from Rodgers' side than it is a footballing decision.

'I sign off on every player we sign'. Well if that's true you're being a childish *.

He was getting a decent amount of time for a squad player until he didn't make the Europa squad.
Kind of understandable, but might still be able to do a job for us in domestic games.

So just ignore all the goals prior to that. I suppose you think Maeda is * based on what he's done this season, if you ignore what he did previously.

Wonder if Rodgers is worried that Shin will start banging them in and he'll face questions about why he didn't make the Europa job.

The situation with Shin and others tells me that Rodgers is as much at war with the board as the fans are. Yet strangely we don't seem to be on the same side.

  17. He's played a total of 147 minutes.

No where near enough to really make judgement

Kenny has shown more than Yamada. So from a footballing perspective, I think having Kenny over him makes sense. Just another thing for folk to be raging at Rodgers over however, so carry on. It’s the same with Inamura. Folk losing their mind because he wasn’t in the EL squad even though Saracchi has come in and done very well.

I've posted in this thread the best I can say about him was Ibrox was the only game I noticed him on the park. He has been absolutely anonymous the majority of the time he has had yet is getting better each week we struggle up front

    I don’t think Maeda is * no, he’s also not a number 9.

I would also be cautious of one outlier of a season, yes.
