Yeah certainly on the back 9 especially. Europe couldn’t find the same magic on the green either.

Losing those first two matches on the 18th totally switched the vibe. Then watching Fitzpatrick blow a 5up lead to DeChambeau had them buzzing.

Think US did really well in the high profile matches. Scheffler beating McIlroy, Thomas beating Fleetwood, Young beating Rose in the opening match. Rahm hammered.

Was just a bit of a *. Shouldn’t just be winning one match out of 11. And by the way massive credit to Ludvig Aberg. Would’ve been walking around Bethpage constantly seeing himself as one of only a couple of European names winning. Couldn’t imagine the pressure he felt when he saw he was the only one. Massive baws from him today

Aye Lowry and then Hatton are getting the plaudits for the clinching moments. But Aberg was so consistent through his round, not sure he even made a bogey. Deserves more kudos than he's getting

It’s easy to say that not many Europeans turned up yesterday, but that’s not the case. Winning a singles match away from home with that crowd was never going to be easy. I did think more would win their matches, but when the momentum turns, it’s hard to stop that. Players that went out and got a half match have done their bit. Even guys like Rose and Fleetwood who have lost on the last haven’t played badly, they’ve just come up against quality players who have pinched it. That’s golf. Fair play to the US, as even early doors it was all blue on the board, so to turn that around and come as close was some effort.

You have to think there was an element of Europe thinking it was in the bag heading into the last day there but at the end of the day its a win and considering the behvaiour of the Americans its still a sweet one.

The Europeans charged out the gate like a greyhound, there was an inevitability about the tiredness on the last day. They were celebrating every putt like the winning putt on the Sunday almost for the first couple days.

Don’t get me wrong, I thought it would be second half of the fixtures before it was secured but I didn’t foresee only 1 European winning, that’s what was so extraordinary about the finish.
