trump threatens to move World Cup games from Democrat run cities

US President Donald Trump says he will move matches at the 2026 World Cup from any cities he thinks are unsafe.

"It will be safe for the World Cup," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. "If I think it isn't safe, we'll move it into a different city."
Trump was asked specifically about matches in the Democratic-run cities of Seattle and San Francisco. Both are due to host six games.
"If any city we think is going to be even a little bit dangerous for the World Cup, or for the Olympics, but for the World Cup in particular, because they're playing in so many cities, we won't allow it to go. We'll move it around a little bit," he said.

 

Not sure that would be his call to make.

This is his latest effort, after already saying that if any sanctions made against Israel. or that they are not allowed to compete to kick up more of a stink, or anyone from countries that qualify that the Trump administration doesn't like being made virtually impossible to get visas etc.

If FIFA had any integrity whatsoever, they should be assigning 90% of the games to Mexico and Canada instead, but of course not. FIFA and integrity are about as diametrically opposed as it gets, when there is the opportunity to sell out to sportswashing, which is exactly what the last couple of mens WC's have been.
