As long as that's enough to get through. Then we've got jota back, AJ fully back... Big new striker/naechance back... final here we go.

To simplify the fans ambition to the board i think we should aim to win the Europe League, and i think that is achieveable in all honesty with realistic investment.

To be a competetive CL team is the aim but that would make us just that with having the above ambition.

All depends on who we face but if you look at it, should we be able to compete and even win against that Tottenham side last year with the form and quality we had last year? Absolutely.

We need to support the team in europe to reach european success as well imo.

I think this ambition would make is harder for the board to use the excuse of "We cant compete in the CL". There is no reason why a club like us should not be able to win the EL and be a top team in it.

Sorry if i spell very bad here lol. Many words i rarely type in english

Watching that Sporting and Kairt highlights just shows how easy it was to break them down with competency in the final third.

Yeah as I thought Kairat will get exposed for what they actually are. Pish. Should of been loads more as well. Still a calamity for me that we didn't get passed them regardless of squad issues at the time.

It was poor but as above I think the lack of any sort of creativity up front was the downfall.

They didn't get a shot on target against us over 2 legs. Its not as if they threatened.

We were just powderpuff up top. Aye we should have found a way but Yang and Forrest and Maeda with a foot out the door isn't a good recipe.

Just leave me to never let it go in peace please :56:

Yeah I'm just being arrogant and bitter to be honest I know there were factors in it but it all circles to the debates I was having at the time about Rodgers having to take a portion of the blame for that tie. I'm sad as * so at work I rewatched our home leg and we were so flat. There was zero urgency from the 1st minute to the 90th and that boils down to the manager for me.

I will move on eventually although I did say to my old man that they will be the worst ever side to compete in the champions league.

I agree with that, although we do have 3 of the same teams we both play. Bologna will be difficult

They're not pish... Show a bit of respect! They're a bog-standard, well organised, hardworking team with mid-level ability... Definitely not CL standard... They gave all they had against us and we punched down to their level and got caught. The other CL teams won't mess up the basics like we did, so they'll all turn them over...

No shame on Kairat to get beaten soundly at this level, because it's a great achievement for them to be there at all... But, if any of those teams take it too lightly and go to sleep like we did then Kairat might surprise them too... Doubtful, but possible...

Another reminder our ranking of 58th is awful for a regular CL team (right beside Victoria Plzen and Ferncvaros)

Think we will get a few pumpings and worry where the goals will come from.

This must be the worst ever Europa League/UEFA Cup by some distance.

Just looking at the teams in it there and I think there is legitimately not even a good team in it.

Even if all our games were against Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Roma, Bologna, Stuttgart, Lille, Porto and Freiburg or whoever the best teams are it's still * looking games against teams who aren't that good.

I think you'd usually expect 3/4/5 teams better than the likes of Roma and Aston Villa.

Apparently some football 'supercomputer' has predicted we will finish 21st in the Europa table... and the Huns 16th. Was on the Sun website so prolly just the journo's FM24 save...

Next week is huge. A win leaves us in a very strong position. A loss or defeat means we will be chasing a minimum of 3 wins in the remaining 6 games.

11 points guaranteed progression last season. 5 teams finished on 10 with 3 progressing and 2 exiting.

In last seasons CL, 12 was the minimum to guarantee progression, 4 teams finished on 11 with 3 progressing and Dinamo exiting.

So we need 3 wins and a handful of draws to progress.

The magic number will generally depend on the number of draws as the more draws, the less points accumulated. There were 6 wins and 3 draws last night so we should probably for a few more draws this evening.

The way we've started the season and after last night's overall performance, I'm genuinely not convinced we progress.
I think a lot of our opponents are very similar in level, Feyenoord and Roma being surely better than us

The worry is, we should be at that level, but I honestly don't think we are better than red star and red star aren't better than the rest of our opponents either.
We've been undone by this calibre of club before in qualifiers, let alone undone by lesser sides too.

Not saying it's impossible to progress, each game is gonna be its own challenge, but there isn't one game I'm seeing where I would sit here feeling confident of winning this season.

Certainly last season when flying I'd say Braga and Utretch should be winnable, Sturm Graz too.
A draw from red star and Bologna.
Roma is a defeat waiting to happen, Dortmund pumping sort.
But last year's flying aide would look at Feyenoord wondering if we could do them.

If this was last season's side, I'd be looking at 11 or 12 points fairly easily.

But honestly this season, how we are playing and yet to look like we've kicked on at all, 3 or 4 pts is more realistic.

    Anycunt scouting Bologna?

Their team has been torn apart the last 2 seasons. Bernadeschi playing RM is mental, was in MLS for a few years.
