Grand, you don't want to tell us what you actually meant so we can agree now that you did in fact tell us our striker went out there tonight and tried to get caught offside, on purpose.

He gave the club ample time and notice about his departure and he was kept here against his will in the summer window through no fault of his own. To make it worse it was the fault of sheer incompetence from folk who have no clue about football.

His performances are no surprise whatsoever, he’s an honourable man who’s been treated wholly dishonourably. We’ll be lucky to get any sort of tune out of him until January - he’s not a robot.

    This.

To suggest that he is going out there and deliberately dropping stinkers of performances because he is sulking is just crazy stuff. Anytime an important player goes through a bad run of form for us the automatic conclusion is they've chucked it. Could people not consider that he is low on confidence or that there are completely reasonable distractions right now that are impacting his form.

I said on here after the Rangers game that he needed taking out of the team because his confidence is extremely low and he is offering the team nothing at the min. You don't generally play players in a bad run of form into form, sometimes they will need a spell out of the team to recharge or refresh and take the pressure off them, particularly when Celtic are in the fragile position they are now.

Don’t appreciate the cut of his jib at the moment tbh, he’s way off it.

Thought one of the main problems last night was players not passing when he was making runs behind. He got himself into some very good positions and the through ball never came.

Pretty much this. He’s not the same player and we will be lucky if we get that again.

Which is on the club, he’s been a great servant since he’s been here but he’s checked out massively and you can’t blame him.

I can't say a bad word about him. To me, Maeda is love, Maeda is life.

The way this is heading is devastating for me personally because in hindsight this will be the season people remember for him and he deserves so much better than that.

I'm so emotionally conflicted right now because it was truly bittersweet to see Iheanacho score last night and have the obvious joy of taking the lead, but then realise the sheer change in play and how effective we were in that passage of play so immediately after Maeda came off.

I feel sorry for him in a way as we've done him badly here. So I can't really say I'm surprised we aren't seeing a player at full pelt.

He's never ever been good enough long term as a celtic no1 striker though. His game just isn't rounded enough. And as I have said to death before, the vast majority of his goals and assists last season came off the LW! ALL of them in Europe did.

As a few have said, he gave us ample notice, did anyone hear on comms last night he had said his goodbyes and actually had emptied his locker ahead of the deadline. Gross incompetence from our board we had the money from Brentford on the table be lucky to get £7m now for him if this keeps up, * slap it into the * on the board thats £60m they would have done * all with anyway between UCL and if daizen had moved.

If he's checked out mentally, can't be motivated to try, he needs benched. It's a disgrace the way the board have operated but on the pitch we can't be playing any passengers. Rodgers needs to address it and play the guys who want to be here.

How anyone can be on here defending him last night is beyond me.

Yes, I feel sorry for him not getting a move that he deserved; however when he crosses that white line then he’s out there for his manager, his teammates and most importantly the fans, not the * in the boardroom. Needs to give himself a good shake.
