Made the correct call with Maeda tonight. He will have to play on Saturday because he’s the only striker fitness wise that can play all the games coming up.

Agree. Needs a serious rethink of that midfield 3 balance, as well.

He's not really trying. Putting aside the debacle of the transfer window we aren't being managed well by him. He's incredibly stale in his approach to managing us, pretty much going through the motions.

Very much what I think too. He's going through the motions because he knows he is not getting another contract.
Still starting with his favourites, still welded to his boring 4-3-3 which does not suit our personnel.
Still decidely dodgy with his substitutes and the timing of them, and seems to be still playing some kind of ping pong game with the Board to our general detriment.
A new manager with fresh ideas could make a very good team out of our squad.

He’s persisting with players who either wanted away in summer and were told no or players who are just * as they know they’re undroppable. Total recipe for disaster

with players like tounekti and Iheanacho starting to shine he needs to re-evaluate the team moving forward, starting with the midfield

The problem with Rodgers is his stubbornness. Does he think Hatate should be in the starting line up based on his last 6 games? I don’t get the treatment given to Inamura. Rodgers is too one dimensional in his thinking. Out to make a point against the * in the boardroom. He has too many blind spots for players.

The team needs a lot of surgery if its to progress beyond just the best of a poor SPL and also ran in Europe.

The football on the field is as safety first as the strategy in the boardroom.

Real sense of stagnation and going through the motions at the club right now.

Not really sure how much can be levelled at Rodgers as being part of the problem but he doesnt really feel part of the solution.

We look poor, and tactically inept. The second half finished the same as the first, so not really game changing. If we'd won then you may have had a point, but that would have needed a better plan. We drew with a very mediocre side.

He's had over 2 seasons to sort out midfield, and we look worse in that area each season. Until he resolves that I'm unlikely to change my opinion that his management hasn't been great.

We keep saying this but he never does, it will be 4-3-3 every week until the end of his time here, Cal will continue to play almost every minute of every game whilst being completely isolated with no MF partner to remove some of the burden from him, any manager thinking with clarity would surely say to themselves I can't continue to play Yang or Forrest at RW until January so I need to find another solution but no, instead he will continue to play Yang or Forrest at RW just to keep the 4-3-3 going

A top manager in my opinion is flexible, they work on different tactics, systems, formations for a whole host of different scenarios, whether that be to prepare for a certain opponent or in the case of injuries/suspensions to key players, to play the same formation and tactics against every opponent is madness, also bordering on lazy, or stubbornness, top managers also are ruthless when they have to be, able to put sentiment to the side for the good of the team when it comes to dropping certain players, Brendan struggles with these aspects of management

If he doesn’t make changes from Saturday onwards - and persist with them beyond that - it’s hard to understand why he can’t see what the majority of fans can see. I mean, is Yang going to start on Saturday/next week or is Rodgers actually going to try someone else (and not Jamesie either)? Are we going to see Hatate drop out for a few games? Why not try Bernardo at 6 and push Cal further forward? Time will tell.

He will send that same soft as * midfield out against Sevco in the semi again.

His refusal to see exactly where we are weak is beginning to irritate me somewhat.

I kind of feel sorry for him in a way, well as much as I can for a man managing Celtic on over 2.5 million a year ha.

He's got a squad of players who are just not good enough to compete in Europe which I'd say has at least 4 or 5 players that dont want to be here and a board he has to fight on a daily basis. He knows and we know he ain't gonna be here next season unless there's serious change at the club which is unlikely.

Because of these reasons as many have said hes going through the motions and playing it safe for me. He'll try get through this season with his tried and tested way and move on relatively unscathed..There will be no surprises, no formation changes, no change of style, it will be the same old same old. He'll win the league do ok in Europe and probably add a domestic cup. Then it will be adiós thanks fir the memories Brendan..
