Ralston is proven to be slower than a week in jail which makes him extremely vulnerable from a defensive POV and limited from an attacking one.

 

Our midfield is just a sieve - zero defensive capabilities there. Any European team on their game, or even slightly off will get chances against us. Very, very little confidence for this one.

 

Ralston is also proven to not let us down defensively. I'd say he's comfortably better in the defensive sector than Donovan. he has experience of this level and has done his job numerous times for us in derby games and filling in Europe and internationally. Donovan has 2 games agaisnt Partick and Kilmarnock.

My big worry for Donovan is when he has to deal with a team that will attack us and will offer a threat. The way he caught out with a ball slid in behind him in the second half yesterday worries me a lot. I like the lad and think he has a lot of potential but he is clearly very raw now and sending a 19 year old full back to the Marakana to make his 3rd senior start is a huge gamble.

If Ralston is fit he has to play.

 

I can see us us sneaking a cheeky wee away win by 1-0 or 2-1.

 

I just don't see a player there. He's been so disappointing in all the big games I've seen him in. His lack of minutes this season so far also tells it's story

Think it has 1-1 written all over it. Hope Donovan and Tounekti play well.

 

I was thinking that myself. This is exactly the type of game we needed to sign a genuine physical 6 for in the summer which of course we failed to do. Best we can do now is start Engels or Bernardo in the middle to help McGregor in midfield.

 

Would be happy with a draw myself from this one. Hope the team is really focused and up for this or it could be a really bad night for us.

They've had a good start to the season. Will be a tricky fixture. Hoping for a win but a draw wouldn't be the end of the world.

 

If Ralston is fit he must start I think. Donovan looks promising, but he was getting caught out easily with the ball slipped in the back of him yesterday, that's a worry. He's still got a lot to learn, and an inform Red Star away is not the place to learn it.

I'd settle for a draw. I'd bite your hand off for three points.

 

Thing is we're easy to scout and analyse..

Its one of my biggest issues with Rodgers, he rarely changes things up.

 

This could be a very tricky tie. Think Donovan has been promising but if Ralston is fit he has to start. Is Iheanacho fit enough to start? Hard to say. I think Hatate needs some time out of the team. Maybe we will see something like this:

Intriguing game. Seem evenly matched on the face of it (we're 2 points above them in the uefa club rankings table and our current squad is worth roughly €15 Million more than theirs).

Also, my bookie can't seem to make up its mind who the favourite for tomorrow is. Firstly it was 15/8 us and 5/4 them; then, about 10 mins later, it was vice versa.

I'll go with an optimistic 2 - 2

 

Going to be tight and think the midfield will decide the game. We need to be battling in there and need more than we have seen so far this season. Would play Donovan before ralston. Guy is just out a boot and is no better than a dependable if limited back up. Donovan deserves a go, he’s raw but has done fine and has something about him.

Why would people move Tounekti to the right? He’s the in form player, keep him where he is.
