Just as its early 30s and would be a relatively young age to retire in modern football.

If his legs are letting him down now, then I'd worry what he will look like in 4 years time.

Did I read correctly that he's on 50k a week?

I'd not be surprised, well a little.
I assumed he would be the top earner and on 40k, but I guess without paying a transfer fee and we got £25m before for him, giving him 50k isn't a mental thought (also considering the cash we constantly make, we do have spare cash to burn).

Ideally our top 3 or 4 players should be on circa 40-50k a week, the next 3 or 4 on 25k-35k a week and work it down.
Most other clubs we would like to compare ourselves to, financially and in European aspirations, will have a few players in these sort of ranges, but then it drops off to what we would consider more conservative.
It's only us, that seems to (til KT) be stuck in a 20 year old wage structure.

Thanks for clarifying mate :50: agree with your ideal structure, can always be a bit higher for the guys that deserve it. Need to avoid Secret Agent McCarthys in the process.

Great that he got 90mins under his belt. Hopefully a solid platform to kick on from here.

    Kieran looks strong?

Yes, he’s gone through a lot, not just physically, but mentally. There's a stress on a player that you can never understand, unless you've had really bad injuries, and what that does to you, and what it makes you think about whenever you're pushing yourself. And when you're young and fresh and haven't got many injuries, then you're just free and you're 100 per cent.

When you know that you've been out for maybe periods of time, it can psychologically hurt you. But he's getting over all that, and it's just every day getting better and improving. And today, it's good for him to get the 90 minutes.

Aw, so it turns out he's not 'finished'. Hyperbole overload.

Rodgers was also pleased to see Kieran Tierney get a first full 90 minutes under his belt since coming back to the club in the summer.

“Psychologically, I felt it was important for him,” he said.

“He hasn't played 90 in a long, long time. But for him just to push himself to get over the hill is very important. Especially in the first half, the combination played with him and Sebastian on that side was outstanding.

Psychologically it's deffo a big thing. Can see in games before he slows up and is almost pacing his self through the hour..

He didn't really look gassed to me at all today. Overlapped well loads of times. The left was our best outlet.....I know in large part to Tounekti but still..

Another step in the right direction for him, pray the set backs are minimal from now on.

It's great that he got a full 90 mins. Although I'm a bit worried that he's done that on the Sunday and we'll ask him to play from the start in Belgrade on Wednesday.

Encouraging her got the full 90+ today but he's still looking very awkward at times, almost stiff in his movement.

Seen a lot of 2016/2017 highlights popping up this week and it’s just a shame he doesn’t move in the same way anymore. Agility is the biggest thing he has lost, he can still show quick feet and running power and will still hopefully be huge for us when fit.

It's good he got the 90 and i am confident he will find his old form but at the moment he just looks like a player with no real strengths. Not really showing to many weaknesses either. Just a player if that makes sense lol
