Drives me nuts when fans say they understand it, because it was a poor transfer window..

    This isn't understanding it, whatsoever.

We need a total change of Footballing structure and fresh blood throughout.. and thats even before we talk fan engagement and better match day experience.

We are delighted to announce the formation of the Celtic Fans Collective, following recent discussions with you and your members.

Over the past week, a steering group has been established and held its first meeting on Wednesday evening. Please find attached a summary of that meeting, including our mission statement, objectives, and values – which we believe reflect the overwhelming spirit and present feeling of the Celtic support.

Next week, we will be forming working subgroups. We warmly welcome supporters who can contribute their time and skills to join these. If you or your members feel you can add value to any particular group, please get in touch.

We will also be launching our presence on X (Twitter)and Instagram in the coming days. Keep an eye out and be sure to follow and share our pages!

Together, we can strengthen the voice of the Celtic support.

After the consultancy meeting in Grace’s, Glasgow on Wednesday 10th September, many
supporters put their names forward to form a steering committee to help navigate the
initial weeks and months of the fan movement.

While it was encouraging to see so many
volunteers, there was too many to form an effective and practical group. In the interests
of fairness, on Monday 15th September, the main fan organisations met to discuss and
form a group to best reflect the broad range of signatories of the open letter and the
wider Celtic support. A meeting was convened quickly for Wednesday 17th September
    with this steering group.

Representation within the steering group is as follows:

    • 1 x Celtic Supporters Association
    • 1 x Affiliation of Registered Celtic Supporters Clubs
    • 1 x Association of Irish Celtic Supporters Clubs
    • 1 x Celtic Trust
    • 1 x Fans Against Criminalisation
    • 1 x Celtic Disabled Supporters Association
    • 1 x Green Brigade
    • 1 x Bhoys Celtic
    • 1 x North Curve Celtic
    • 3 x Fan Media
    • 1 x Fans Forum
    • 10 x Celtic Supporters Clubs from Scotland, England and Ireland

The meeting opened by acknowledging the strong supporter response to the joint
Statement, fan survey and initial gathering, confirming a clear desire for change in the
club’s leadership, governance, and approach to its supporters.

Key areas of discussion and agreement were:
    • Campaign focus: Maintaining pressure on the board while ensuring messaging is
centred on accountability, transparency, and long-term reform, rather than
    individuals alone.
    • Matchday actions: A programme of visible actions will continue at upcoming
fixtures, beginning with Partick Thistle, to sustain momentum and build towards
    the AGM.

    • AGM strategy: Mobilising shareholders, preparing resolutions and questions, and
coordinating visible protest around the meeting were identified as major
    priorities.
    • Communications: A pool of representatives will speak on behalf of the
movement to ensure collective identity and unity across supporter groups.
    • Evidence base: Research will be undertaken on governance, finance, and
comparative models across football to strengthen the case for reform.
    • Structure: The steering group will operate as the central body with dedicated
    subgroups.

The campaign will operate under the agreed name Celtic Fans Collective. Work is under
way to establish dedicated communications channels and to involve supporters with
    relevant skills in sub-groups.

The meeting closed with agreement on a shared strategy: short-term visibility, mediumterm escalation towards the AGM, and long-term reform of the club’s governance
    structures.

The steering group agreed to formalise its structure. The main body of twenty-three will
provide oversight while working groups will take responsibility for delivery. Each subgroup will include at least one steering member to ensure coordination, but they will also be open to any supporter with skills and time to contribute.

    The agreed working groups are:

    • Protests and matchday actions
    • Communications
    • Corporate governance and shareholdings
    • Research
    • Secretariat and supporter engagement
    • Fan media.

A steering group chat will be created followed by subgroup chats. A shared drive will
hold documents and evidence. A campaign name (Celtic Fans Collective) has been
agreed, and email addresses and social media accounts will be set up quickly to create
an independent identity not tied to any one supporters’ organisation.

The skills data already gathered from signatories will be used to allocate members into subgroups. It was also suggested that we ask each signatory to the joint Statement to contribute a donation to campaign costs. We will email signatories about this in due course once an appropriate account is agreed to store funds.

The costs for the Partick Thistle action
(£1,254) have been covered by Bhoys Celtic, Green Brigade and The Celtic Trust.

In closing, the meeting confirmed there is unity of purpose around short-term visibility,
medium-term escalation building towards the AGM, and developing an argument for
long-term governance reform. Success depends on consistent weekly activity, a wide
pool of spokespeople, and effective coordination across subgroups. The campaign must balance high-profile targets with systemic reform messaging so that momentum is
maintained and the wider support remains united.

    Mission Statement

The Celtic Fans Collective exists to unite supporters through a representative body that
advocates for the interests of Celtic fans.
We strive to ensure that Celtic Football Club operates with transparency, accountability,
and ambition, aligned with the values and aspirations of its supporters.

    Overarching Aim

To modernise the governance and strategic direction of Celtic Football Club by ensuring:
    • A clear vision that reflects the ambitions of the support.
    • A transparent and respectful relationship between the Club and its supporters.
    • Corporate governance standards befitting an organisation of Celtic’s scale and
    reputation.

    Values

The Collective is guided by the following principles:

    • Democracy. Decisions are driven by the voices and mandate of supporters.
    • Integrity. The collective will act with transparency, evidence, and accountability.
    • Ambition. The collective will demand the highest standards on and off the pitch.
    • Independence. The collective will operate free from undue influence, representing only
    the interests of Celtic fans.
    Objectives
    • To obtain credible, transparent, and comprehensive answers from the Board to the
seven original questions outlined in the Open Letter published on 3rd September 2025.
    • Force change at Board level by:
    - Seeking the removal of the current CEO Michael Nicholson, Chairman Peter Lawwell,
    and CFO Chris McKay.
    - Exposing the failures of Non-Executive Directors and advocating for change in the
    club’s approach corporate governance.
    • Build an informed case for a Fan Advisory Board at Celtic FC.
    • Create a democratic fan movement to represent our collective positions and hold the
board to account in the long term.

Amazing, we've been crying out for a fan body to unite the fanbase.. there's been lots of threads on it over the years!

This is an important and exciting step.

A steering committee of 23... what could possibly go wrong? That is potentially already a big mistake.

Great to read and we all need to get behind it.

It's a large group, with representation from a large spectrum of the support.
Forget any personal dislikes or whatever for individuals, this is a group we all should be backing for change now.

I read that as a steering group of 12, with 10 Supporters Clubs with one vote...

Who are 23 then, I only count 11 plus the Supporters Clubs from Scotland, Ireland and England?

Its always going to be difficult to get organised, but to have the best chance if success.. we need a buy in from all the many different stands of the support.

    Who would you exclude?
    Edit: I see there's 3 from fan media:50:

That is an incredible effort by all involved.

Just my two cents....my suggestion would be to narrow scope and reduce the numbers of individuals and groups involved. It wont be managable to maintain a focus with so many voices. Once the sub groups have been agreed you probably want to have a steer co of less than 10 qualified voices based on varying backgrounds and experience (rather than affiliation) and populate the 'working groups' with those who are especially motivated or qualified to give opinions on one particular area.

That is no criticism - I appreciate a lot of work has gone into getting a collective this size together. Just a suggestion in good faith.

    Who would you exclude tho?.

It was meant to be 12, but thinking about it 23 people to represent such a massive fan base isn't that many..

At least everyone is in the room to try and get a consensus

I get its tough and everyone wants to be involved. And all involved are much bigger fans than I am. But as @Taz says a steer co with 23 members isnt really a steer co. You want a steer co of 5-10 people - pick the 10 most qualified and influential people from all involved across a mix of the groups.

It is still a great achievement to get this far so I am not knocking it. Just thinking out loud based on spending my days sitting on these kind of things.
