Are there sanctions if reported properly to the relevant authorities? Any company law bods on here?

Chants need to hit his ego, which seems to be rather inflated, given the stories of what triggered him to sponsor Rodgers' first arrival.

It'd be some laugh to have a full Parkhead chant how his children are actually from another man, or something similar that destroys the ego.

Celtic majority shareholder Dermot Desmond is reportedly in talks to sell his UK nursing group empire.

Desmond has owned Barchester Healthcare alongside JP McManus and John Magnier since the early 1990s - with the company growing to be valued at a whopping £4billion.

The Business Post report that interest is coming from American groups Welltower and Ventas over a potential deal.

And the news comes amid unrest betweenCeltic fans and the board over a lack of spending in the summer window.

But Desmond has already declared he will never sell his slice of the Glasgow giants back in 2022.

The Irishman – according to Sharecast – holds 32,772,073 shares which has a market value of £59,863,654.86.

In the wide-ranging sitdown in 2022, the 75-year-old said: "Nobody has ever approached me about buying shares from me, that's in the last 27 years or so.

I have no intention of selling any shares, not now or in the future, even if somebody offers me a price three or four times the current share price, I'm not selling.

"I've been privileged and honoured to be able to be a shareholder of a club I supported as a youth and I've been a fan for well over 50 years.

"Therefore I'll continue to be a fan and shareholder and hopefully contribute to the continued development of the club."

Amid mounting pressure, Lord Willie Haughey has leapt to the defence of Desmond telling Celtic fans they should be careful what they wish for amid rocketing criticism.

The former non-executive Hoops director told PLZ: "Everybody is disappointed to go out of the Champions League and in a couple of the performances but overall, if you think about the 30 years before that and all the hard times, we've actually been spoilt the last 15 years or so.

I would just say that Dermot and his involvement with the club has put us where we are. Let's back off a wee bit and keep supporting the team.

Apparently our landlord is "in talks" to sell off Barchester Healthcare.

A group of yanks have approached and talks are proceeding.

This, imo will might implications for us.

Firstly it could spell out that Desmond has no confidence in his children to carry on his shareholding.
Secondly, it will effectively "bank" his personal worth from portfolio to bank account.

Why is he selling? Is a * atm for him and the other two twats? Is he being forced to sell by his partners?

Does this mean this * is going to take the reigns here? Or more time on the golf course?

Will he inject cash into the club in terms of infrastructure?

Is the current crisis a motivating factor? Or is it just happenstance?

Either way it might be bad news for us. The last thing we need is a billionaire retiree using us as his retirement hobby.

Desmond has nothing to do with where we are today the egotistical fuckpig.. That honour is held by Fergus and the fans that helped force change. This * has done absolutely nothing for this club other than hold shares.. GTF Desmond...

Selling a nursing care business to Americans isn’t great. Price increase will undoubtedly follow for the customers.

No, regulators couldnt care less if Desmond signs off on transfers or not. It is an internal matter.

Wish he would follow suit and sell off his Celtic shares to someone who actually has ambition and cares about growing Celtic.

Fingers crossed it's a mix up when he got offered to be bought out of his nursing home and they simply meant the old house for the old timers in Parkhead.

Could be a confusion about what business they want to invest in.

Some may consider Celtic a nursing home for ex players and staff unable to find work elsewhere

Your probably right but we certainly need to keep the pressure on and try as best we can to get rid of Desmond as well as his board cronies.

Should have got himself and Lawwell a couple of rooms in it instead.
