Does signing someone who will be free instantly make it bad? The guy has scored 5 and got 3 assists in 9 games, it's a punt I'd actually be okay with, his wage will be minimal too. I think we need to spend money to get the team where it needs to be.

I also think because Hearts want him that makes him bad like others have said. We'd all take Braga wouldn't we?

When are we going to get rid of this misplaced and unfounded arrogance on players and teams in certain countries?

 

I don't mind signing guys like this but it seems a Tilio/Shved/Yang type signing - a hopeful punt.

I think we need proven quality in first and foremost.

 

A good mix is fine, especially if they are going to be 4th choice behind Jota, Toutnekti and Balikwisha. We shouldn't stop taking punts, we just need to mix proven quality with punts.

The issue with Tilio, Shved and Yang is all 3 came in at a time when no quality was signed and it was almost all punts.

 

I think you missed my main point, which is that we seem to mainly be targeting players in the last year of their contract or out of contract.

That vastly diminishes our net of possible targets and considering our financial reserves is an utter embarrassment in my eyes.

Nothing wrong with getting a player for free, but it has to be the right player and not just one that's free and might tick a few boxes.
