Bernardo won't get a sniff, Brendan has made it very clear that he'll be getting the Nawrocki treatment this season

Annoyed me second half when Nygren made a * of it and gave it to Cal and put him in bother. Cal then just shrugs his shoulders at him when really he should have been giving him pelters. He's losing a bit of balls these days and it's worrying.

You might well be right. But Bernardo did start the last League Cup game and played quite well so maybe he will again next week against Partick Thistle.

Poor again, but not as bad as he has been.

If nothing else, he needs to receive and then turn with the ball at least sometimes.

Sad to see him look a liabilty around our own bax all too often in past few years.

Sad thing is Callum never was a defensive midfielder let alone a sweeper, not directly his fault that he has always been a bit of a liabilty trying to play as one. He would play in goal and not complain.

A genuine play maker whos main abilty has been sacrificed, he was as good imo better than Tom Rogic or Matt O'Riley for examples .
But shoe horned into a Broony replacement - when never was remotely that type or abilty for role .

Easily as well. The other 2 doing nothing to help him, in fact the opposite to be honest.

Something that's not been considered is he recently became a dad. For all the will in the world, having kids, twins at that will affect every aspect of your life. For someone who's life has probably been so regimented and focused up to that point it's bound to take a while to adjust

Virtually all of our midfielders are getting hammered to some extent at the moment. Despite CM being the area of the team where we have the most competition. I think the whole thing is screaming of a system failure.

Even Killie opted to stick their CF on McGregor for large parts of the game yesterday. Its really clear that this is an effective tactic against us. It slows down the speed at which we move the ball forward completely.

The patterns of play we use, the options our midfield provides - its just so limited. The team - and I include the coaches in this - seems like they would rather pass to McGregor with a player on top of him than actually think to try something different. Maybe push McGregor forward and see how the opposition reacts. Have Hatate drop deeper to collect the ball. Instead its passed to McGregor who is marked and receive the ball back. Or wait for McGregor to drop even deeper to pass the ball to him.

The midfield dont integrate well with either each other or with the forward line. Theres not much combinations and very little nice link up play. But huge amounts of time in possession shuffling it around with no real purpose to the play. The set up feels really stale and at this point pretty lazy to not look to try and change things up.

Another typical * poor performance from our skipper, he seems to be losing pace rapidly. Mostly, even before he receives the ball, he has his mind up where he is going to play it-mostly back to center half’s. When you observe midfielders at most levels, first option is to just play one touch forward but a lot of times, this is not on. Second option is to take a touch, get the head up and pick out a forward pass. And if neither is on, well then have to play it back. He just seems programmed to pass it to CHs regardless. His mobility really has decreased big time

He was woeful yesterday again, a complete liability at CDM, shoe horned into a position that Broony could play with aplomb, but McGregor can't, because he just has not got the make up for it.

He's gets * about from pillar to post by any imposing central midfielder, or he goes into hiding.

    It's fucken pitiful to watch.

Hardly, he's been mostly class in that position..

So, much so we call it 'the McGregor role'.

Is he on the decline, sadly looks that way.. but don’t try and rewrite history.

    Sorry mate, no can do.
Your version of history, The McGregor role is a myth.:giggle1:
He's been steamrollered in the Champions League games for as long as I can remember.
And in many of the Hun games, he's been largely posted missing or anonymous.
    That's my version of history.

The huns cried for about 3 seasons that they couldn't get near McGregor and how he dominated them. Your history needs reviewed.

    Naw mate.
You believe the all the pish the Huns say ? We have lost the midfield in nearly every Hun game since Broony left. Fact.
We have won a lot of those game, in spite of our weak midfield. My version of history is real and authentic. Why ?

Because I have seen it with my own eyes. Not make belief, to kid people on

Had no idea that he became a dad recently, congrats captain Cal. This really does explain a lot - he'll be knackered (on top of being used like a work horse his entire career). Two solid options on the bench in Engels and Bernardo, rotations wouldn't hurt.
