He handled that like a pro there, fair * play. Glad he has finally turned up the heat on those * on the board rather than being used as a human shield for them any longer.

They mugged him off big time and he knows the fans are needing vindication of their unrest. Played it perfectly on all fronts.

Masterclass is the word. He is really an exceptional communicator. Could be a leader in any industry if it wasnt football.

Hoepfully Lawwell is done after that.

I see my minor attempt at humour has unfortunately gone amiss. I will put it down to many of us being stunned by Brendan’s skewering of that shower in in the board room.

Finally he comes out with the reason for his leaving last time. Or the driving factor.

Said it before, same with Ange, they both saw the writing on the wall and jumped before pushed/disaster struck and * them more.

The issue at our club is NOT our manager, it is Peter Lawwell.

The only time in the last 20 years we have looked progressive was when he was out the door and his influence weakened. But first sign of someone actually doing a better job than him, brought him back quick time for the chairman role.

I firmly believe that was always the case, PL was always getting Bankiers seat and the resignation was just to shut up the fans.

Rodgers was then sold the lie, he's admitted that yesterday with his comments about the same thing had him leave last time.

Rodgers isn't flawless, he has his own issues in game, but he's also one of the best managers we've ever had.
He seems to want to play mind games with PL and prove his point in how he has managed some games, I get it, not sure we would all agree with it though, but I get it.

Hope now is we, as a football team, knuckle down for the season and we, the fans, crank up the actions for change.

What I liked about the presser was him constantly mentioning he’s the one who faces the press and fans. Calling them out for the pish poor communication

He was only backed (well, semi-backed) in one window and although people can complain that Idah was a mistake (I think rightly) or that Engels and Trusty were mistakes (I think wrongly), the fact is that he delivered that season.

That was the first CL campaign I've enjoyed since Lenny reached the last 16 and only the second CL season I've enjoyed since WGS. He got some of the players he wanted and he delivered with a big improvement in Europe. Imagine if we backed him properly.

Realistically, he's our best manager since Stein. Yes, Ange and MON have to be in the conversation and WGS did an amazing job under the circumstances, but he has achieved more in the game than any Celtic manager since Stein.

Tbf the huns parked the bus against us and prayed for a 0-0 draw, and against every other team they've bent over and pulled their pants down.

The very fact that hes communicated that hes spoken to Desmond and Nicholsen on "a daily basis" and that theyre not happy with the "leak" either, points to the fact that Rodgers has his ducks in a row.

Hes taken aim at Lawwell and made it known the puppet master and the * doll are on his side.

Lawwell, who should never have been allowed to darken our door again, has well and truly shat the * bed.

Desmond has no choice but to force him to resign, or indeed sack him under corporate malfeasance; in that he went as far as to try to force Rodgers out, which inevitably would have hurt the share price with such a scandal, as well as the financial implications of finding a new manager, paying Rodgers' off etc.

Its also the only move Desmond has to try to get the fans back onside. Somebody's head has to roll, and Lawwells is the only viable option right now.

The only two questions are will Lawwell go quietly, and does Desmond have the balls to follow through if he doesnt.

Its a 50/50 for me. Desmond wont want to "hurt" a long time collaborator.

My money is on Lawwell leaving around xmas because of a "health issue" or a family responsibility. Hes a lame duck until then. Short leash, stay at home, gig.

Realistically hes not and not even near it. He might be labelled as most successful, but hes facing a basket case of a club, but lets get one thing straight mostly near enough every previous manager bar a few would have their team absolute pump his.

BR team in invincible seaspn was best he had and weve had at least 2, 3, maybe 4 other teams who woulda slapped theirbarses and sent them home.

MO team is easily by some distance best we've ever had probably in my lifetime supporting Celtic (I was born early 70s but cant recollect team) till 80s.

IF Lawell is to go, it must be prior to the agm. I don't care if he's sacked or is allowed to feign illness as an excuse, he simply has to go. He should take Brian Wilson and Tom Allison with him, for starters.

That press conference really was a masterstroke from Brendan. In one public appearance I feel like he's totally changed the feeling within the club, brought the supporters onside, put up a wee bit of a siege mentality, and targeted those responsible. This is the kind of situation where being an expert public speaker reaps dividends.

Reminds me a wee bit of the press conference around the Hearts game in his first year, the way he used that to bring the supporters onside at a time of crisis, move the spotlight away from him and make it an us against them mentality. After that we were excellent for the rest of the season. Hopefully see a similar turnaround now.
