He looked plenty fast enough for us when he was dropping the shoulder and rinsing the Aberdeen defender to set up Nygren for the opener.

Not getting the criticism or worry. He'll be fine. The quality may not be the best up here but the one thing you always hear players say is that the game is hectic and fast paced. He'll re-adjust and kick on.

And similar in pre-season, and pretty much every game except Huns and Kairat away. At home Kairat game he was the biggest threat squaring players up and that wee burst.

We didn’t see it they two games, because we never worked the ball up to get him up the * pitch.

And Gassama for them is * quick, and done him once. Every other attempt Tierney snuffed it out completely. That once, has them creaming over it and is declaring him finished.

Wonder what he’d be if his overhead kick had went in at Ibrox? Probably the example of what world class brings

Don't think its anything serious. Probably not risking him on a * plastic pitch

    Update from Brendan

Kieran's just got back in training. So that's good. He knows he has to step up his work, but he's obviously been out for eight or nine days

If Tierney and Ralston our both out looks like it will be Donovan on the right from the start with Saracchi on the left.

Tierney is back in training, but doubt he'll start at least with the plastic pitch. So it'll probably, as you said, be those two starting which will be interesting to watch.

Tierney most likely on the bench I would guess for this weekend.

Are we not expecting Tierney to play on any artificial surfaces? That's 10% of games straight off without any consideration of fitness/injuries?

So as he's only playing 2/3 of a game, we've a player that will be available at most 60% of the time.

Good player but just don't get why a professional club would do this with their number 1 player in what is pretty much a specialist position.

He’s been pulled off when he could have continued multiple times already IMO. We are being extremely conservative with him and with good enough reason.

I think he’ll end up playing the vast, vast, majority of the second half of the season games.

Is that hope or do you have an actual reason for thinking that?

Yeah he’s not been a regular first team player for 3 years, there’s no switch that can turn that on and off. People see the name on the back of his shirt and expect him to be superman, he’s a normal guy that’s had injuries and will take time to gradually build back to where we need him to be.

We moaned the first time around when we didn't rest him enough. It's definitely being handled the correct way.

Part of the reason he's as injury prone as he is, is on us.

That's true. But also why people like myself thought it was a bad move to even consider. More than happy to be proven wrong but so far it's the opposite.

In all honesty Tierney so far has made use weaker not stronger. That might well turn round but no sign of that so far.
