I came in to say Muscat. Remember when we played against his team in a friendly and he had them playing well. Seems to have done a decent job in China as well.

Knutsen who exercises control over Bodo like he owns the club.. sure that would go down well with our board. :giggle1:

No chance mate... hes a huffy little git:56: his interviews are amusing ill give him that, he'd have Sky on strings and defo wouldn't be a board yes man..

He won the the league with Shels but it was ultra defensive.. not great to watch but probably necessary at that level..

We will not be appointing anyone from the League of Ireland as manager. :giggle1:

We also won't be appointing Duffy. If they wanted to go with someone like that, Kennedy would get the gig and even then, I don't think he will be getting it either.

I wouldnt rule it out. Club could easily be in a mess in the summer with board under siege, squad needing a rebuild and new manager.

I dont think we will be as attractve a proposition to the calibre of managers we would like.

Postecoglu was a punt from the j league. Lennon got it before him having been sacked by hibs. Delia was meant to be an assistant manager etc etc

Depending on how the Championship unfolds then we might have our eye on Chris Davies and Kieran McKenna by next May.

When Postecoglou left, about 3 upcoming managers with plenty of profile came out and said they wanted the gig. Iraiola, who's now at Bouremouth and doing an incredible job. Farioli, who was at Ajax but left. Not sure where he is, now. Can't remember who the 3rd one was but it was clear that Demond wanted Rodgers back and that's who we got.

We will get another good manager. Managers aren't the problem, though.

Postecoglu left a treble winning team with guaranteed champions league entry though.

I think we are a different proposition now.

A board plastered all over the media for transfer failures, lack of ambition, and pr own goals. A squad in need of a rebuild. A fan base trying to oust its board.

Whoever comes him I hope he is allowed to bring in his own staff. I am not a fan of the board forcing John Kennedy on every manager.
Not saying to sack him but every new manager should always be given an option to decide who stays and who comes in

Maresca was the favorite for a while and now at Chelsea , michel was quoted as a choice too due to the city links at girona ,

iraola was the one I wanted , went a season not been beaten in La Liga by Barcelona and real Madrid I’m sure so I thought would have been a great choice to make a go in Europe seems he knew how to play bigger teams which he is now showing at Bournemouth ,

within a week of Rodger’s being appointed maresca , Iraola and farioli all accepted jobs so must have been something in them

I’ve a feeling it’s going to be Damien duff when rodgers goes

Duff done a really good job in Ireland, but I think coming to us would be too big a jump for him just now.

Not sure who we get as next manager but I think the pool we deal with given our insistence on not having a director of football.

Most candidates out there are Head Coaches and not managers, we are old school in that we want a manager to have that broader remit than many of the candidates would be used to.

I am not sure who we could really look to but I would like us to look outwith the usual names a bit like an Iraola or Fariolli type appointment. I would love a Gasporini type or someone who worked in his way as a coach before going out on their own.

Rodgers won't be here for 2026/27. That's certainly clear.

The board will either go for a blockbuster manager (unlikely), an up and coming manager (probably) or someone that they personally like (e.g. Keane, Duff, Brown etc).

I think there would be a huge revolt if they continue to * up with a job for the boys appointment. I'd like to think that they would know Celtic Park would be half empty if they do that.

    Do they even care?

Personally, Muscat would be top of my list.

My first pick would be Marco Rose - exceptional football at Salzburg. One of the best teams I’ve ever seen play against us at CP.

Second pick would be Steven Pressley. This feels the most unlikely given I fancy him to get picked up by a big team through this season. Got Dundee playing cracking stuff. Knows the club better than anyone

Third pick would be Chris Davies. Knows the club, good football and a good way about him. But all depends on if Birmingham go up. He can bring Kyogo back up the road with him too

    Muscat, deary me.

Ex hun, ex Millwall, dirty horrible mutant. A perfect fit for the knuckle draggers. I’d rather John Barnes back.

Damien Duff? Stephen Bradley? Robbie Keane? The League of Ireland? It’s like I’ve wandered into a fever dream and not one of the good ones.
