Kemnedy would surely be ahead of Maloney at this point. Maloney is pretty much tarnished by his spells at Wigan and Hibs. Kennedy at least hasn't a track record of failure? Could certainly see Maloney being bumped up to Assistant though if Kennedy gets the promotion.

I think stephen bradley is probably more likely than duff.

He already has a good relationship with desmond from his shamrock rovers. Not as volatile as duff. And a strong record in loi plus has been making progress in europe with rovers. Board would probably feel hes a safe option that wouldnt be demanding.

Ive heard desmond considered inviting him to interview prior to rodgers although dont think he ever formally interviewed.

Duff has left his last two jobs with ireland and shels in a blaze so think hes damaged his standing although he seems to be a good coach.

Robbie keane could also be considered

Keane is a possibilty too, there would be huge backlash from the support due to the Israel thing, not that the board would care though.

Would be as well shutting the doors if it's any of them.

Only one I'd potentially take would be Duff.

Duff would be a disaster. His tactics at shelbourne were incredibly conservative and he is liable to take a notion and just walk which he has done on a number of occasions

Id hope for someone with more established pedigree but with the unrest at the club and the well publicised issues with the board i think we will be a less attractive proposal for some of the higher calibre managers.

If desmond is as influential as hes made out for manager selection then bradley for me would be up there amongst the candidates in terms of the boxes he ticks for the board and desmond. Hes probably due to move on from rovers now although i think one of his children had a serious illness which meant he wanted to stay in ireland. The kid seems to be doing better now though so i can see him moving on from rovers in the near future.

Imagine GVB lol. Funny thing is that he is a very good coach.

Dunno if this Celtic/rovers desmond link is a strong as made out. We havent got a sniff of the considerable talent that has been moved on away from the club .. not that we would have played them anyway

This generations subpar names we (the fans) are gonna he praying we dodge every time a new manager talk opens up

It's like back in the day we kept getting linked with mowbray, coyle, Lambert etc
Scary thing was, mowbray eventually got the job.

No offense to any of these names mentioned, but they are so far down the pecking order of who we should be truly asking to be our manager that they are a massive step down in calibre for us.

Alas though, as said already earlier in the thread, doesn't * matter who it is.

We could hire Pep, Jose, Conti, Knutsen, Whoever and we would still shaft them at every turn.
Initially give them the chance to spend £30m then completely destroy anything positive within their team til the point we treat them like dugshite and hope they leave before needing to pay them off.

Ange getting the Forest job could make the stars align. If he has a bad run with them and he gets the sack before the end of the season I think Celtic could be on his radar next summer. Didn't fancy him to go back after spurs but if he fit bombed out of a second pl job

I would go all out for Knutsen but it will never happen.

I read somewhere or on a podcast that's it's a very family orientated area (Bodo) and the manager and players are regularly seen going on walks and going out for meals etc and they're not hounded by people all the time. Think he's had loads of offers from bigger clubs but isn't bothered and is happy to stay where he is.
Probably another reason why a lot of their players struggle when they move abroad.
I think it's a fantastic club that have done brilliant. I always look out for their results

Knutsen would prob be my pick as well but he will have options in many leagues and doubt hes going to accept the job here while theres a * show ongoing

Sure I read the he gets a cut of the profit on player trading which is making him a very wealthy man.

Can you imagine Lawwell signing off on that?

My ideal world pick would be Marco Rose

I imagine it would be one or a combination of

    Kennedy
    Maloney
    Brown
    Roy Keane
    Robbie Keane
    Damien Duff.

Hypothetically would anyone entertain Kevin Muscat?

I think Muscat would do a great job here. I don't give a * who he is tbh.

The Board would not have balls for it though
