    * sad state of affairs, man.

Shame it's going to end in such a toxic manner. I'm sure his wife loves Scotland as well and his daughter is still in school here. So going abroad will be rough.

I do think if he was being supported and things were more positive he'd have stayed.

For me it depends on how he approach the season.

Board have made his position untenable. We’ve got players who don’t want to be here. All other players have watched as some of their team mates have been treated like a play toy. Captain asking for players that haven’t arrived. The whole thing is a mess. Rodgers job is a very difficult one now.

I’d love him to stay at till the end of the season and hopefully we will the league.

He could get a mic drop moment and leave with his head high.

But the board are hopefully gone or in the process of going before that. Because any success you know fine well we will get a “told ya so” statement from the *.

Yes I agree but he still have 3 million reasons to give 100% even if Hitler was at the helm. Either that or leave.

I dont think Rodgers should walk. He can leave freely in 9 months anyway.

Best thing he can do for the club now is make his peace with this season and knuckle down and focus on retaining the title.

The board arent going to want someone as headstrong next time around. Desmond is a big fan of Stephen Bradley at Shamrock Rovers and I think will want him considered for the job once Rodgers leaves.

Think hes a manager the board would feel safe with as well as he wouldnt be happy dealing with smaller expenditures and not likely to rocking the boat.

Was happy enough when he came back, wasnt one of those who held a grudge on him for leaving bcoz I think he left due to Lawwell being a * but did have fears that his style of play tends to go stale and his problems with the board would resurface both of those are true so aye I'm looking forward to him being away too bcoz I'm really struggling to watch his mind numbingly boring as * football.

I thought Rodgers coming back was a signal from the club of a change of intent. He was never going to be satisfied just winning the SPL. So for him to come back I figured he would have been given some guarantees around club strategy.

It tentatively looked like last season that was the case. The higher than normal expenditure. The signs of progress in Europe. The new CL format offering the club more chances of success etc

Its incredible how much its unravelled though and the board have completely retreated back into a position of conservativism.

It was never going to work properly under those conditions.

It’s clear that the squad has regressed and Rodgers has been hung out to dry. Other than walking and calling out the board in the process, the best that can happen is Brendan tweaks his system to get the best out of what we’ve got, and feels motivated to make his final season a special one by winning the league/treble and hopefully engineering some sort of success in Europe.

That’s the highly hopeful scenario. The more realistic one is that Rodgers perseveres with the exact same style of play, but due to lack of quality personnel the performances continue in the downward trend we’ve seen the past 6 months. We possibly still win the league, but do so by ‘controlling’ teams to death with lots of ball retention and measured sideways passing.

In view of the loss of confidence by the Board in Rodgers, evident in the damaging leak to the Sun, I think it would be best that Rodgers leaves the club now, before the atmosphere at the club becomes even more toxic, and even more damage is done to his managerial resume. It's not going to get any better for him from here on in at Celtic, and he is going to find himself trapped between a rock and a hard place, if he tries to cling on to his precarious position at the club now. Recent poor results and the downward trajectory of his managerial career, have called into question his reputation as an elite manager. I think a parting of the ways is inevitable, and would be best for both parties concerned now, and give us all a fresh start at the club, to bring in real change in the structure and running of the club, and try and build and restore the connect and trust between the club and its support again.

I dont think it is as crazy as some ppl might believe. The board is obviously the main problem but Rodgers aint a saint in this.

If people continue hailing him if he continue losing games vs the huns. Continue to hail him for losing cup finals, playing extremely bad football etc, he won't win anything this season. He will prove a point the entire season if we let him. Thats how big his ego is.

Can you understand his frustrations? Yes ofc ffs the board are *.

But he is on 3m/year and should still fulfill his responsibilities, otherwise we will lose the league.

We cant make him immune to critizism just because our board didnt back him enough.

This isvextremely important as i can unfortunately see that ppl will sing his name when we are 2 down to Hibs at home.

    We need a fresh start.

And that means from top to bottom. I am already on record, saying that I would like to see a takeover of the club, while we remain an attractive asset to any Celtic minded consortium with assets of £100M, and I am not ruling out a Celtic fan buy out of the Club. I want to see a Celtic minded Director of Football appointed at the Club, who would oversee all footballing operations, including transfer business. I would like to see a Celtic minded professional PR agent appointed, who would be the direct link between the club and its support, with regular face to face meetings with Celtic CSC representatives and other Celtic organisations, when any potential situations risk flaring up again. Brendan Rodgers is leaving at the end of the season when his contract expires, so it makes sense to me that an arrangement is agreed sooner between the two parties to allow him to leave sooner, so that a process can be started to find his successor as soon as possible.

    And that's just for starters.
    Open to suggestions.

Rodgers will be away at the end of the season regardless and the problems we've had will continue beyond him. Changing manager alone will accomplish nothing and undoubtedly they'll ensure the next manager is a true toady.

Our next gaffer will be a Celtic man with only very modest experience of coaching/management - someone that is totally beholden to the board for his position and whose appointment we feel too loyal to argue against. Make your shortlist now and get to the bookies, cos that's 100% what the board will do.

Rodgers could either say * you to the board, try his hardest to win the league and leave in a blaze of glory or he could just down tools and we would see our team collapse and loose our title. Worrying times guys

With the unrest around the club at the moment the job Rodgers leaves behind is going to be nowhere near as attractive as the one Ange left.

Good managers will see the fan unrest and read the criticisms levelled at the board and think "no thanks".

The board are also not going to want another headstrong manager with ambitions that exceed their own.

I think it points to targetting someone who will see managing Celtic as winning the jackpot and will be happy to toe the line for the board.

Stephen Bradley, Kennedy possibly Robbie Keane would be some I think will be in the mix due to connection with the club and / or Desmond.
