My thoughts on the leaked comments.

'Engineering his exit' sounds like they're gearing up to sack him. They're implying he wants away but wants the payoff. That narrative doesn't add up for me though.

Yes, Rodgers has been subtley critical of the board, but this started waaaay before the Kairat tie, so it can't be just deflection from results. It was also nothing that went over the line - wee veiled comments about not being kept in the loop, which no one doubts as true. He even went as far as defending them, stating they 'bleed' for the club. So it has to be stuff that's gone on behind closed doors.

Best guess is that they're unhappy about him recalling Idah and stating that he wouldn't be sold until we signed a replacement. Basically, he tried to force their hand to make a signing. I 100% buy that he would and did do that because he saw it as in the club's best interests from a footballing perspective. As the manager, that's his business as much as it is for the board to represent the club's financial interests in punting Idah.

To me, the board come off as total tyrants in this. Completely uninterested in what an experienced, trusted manager has to say about the transfers in and out of this club, which absolutely every supporter would also agree with. As with similar incidents in the past, you can either bend over and lick their boots or they'll discard you and dirty your name on the way out.

They're a * disgrace in my view. The bottom line is that they've reneged on their commitments to the manager and to the fans to take the club forward by investing in the squad. I'm not going to be distracted from that by their trying to pin it all on a manager they've * around over two spells. The club must be sold and the board must be replaced.

That's it, I'm done, no more strips, no more t-shirts or hoodies or trackies, no more cup tickets, no more match day programmes, no more canteen purchases, no more windfall tickets, no more pins, badges, hats, or other assorted merchandise from the shop.

If we think it's bad in this forum just now I would hate to see it in January when we could be behind in the league to the zombies and they have won the league cup .
If this happens and we have * up of a January transfer window similar to the summer one and we end up losing the league then surely the boards days are numbered.

The question is, mate: Who sacks them? Who buys the club? I would hate to be bought over by someone who sees the “Keltic soccer club” as a hobby, licence to print money, or something worse.

This board is a joke, though. I’ve defended them occasionally, but overall, they have been, at best, negligent and incompetent, like every board in my lifetime.

It’s no coincidence we’re cash-rich and hoovering up trophies while the Rangers have been a comedy act since 2012. That’s not our fault, and I'm not moaning about our domestic success, but the board certainly over-egg that pudding and use it to hold us back in Europe.

 

I'm in total agreement that there should be some visible and vocal forms of Celtic fan demonstrations, that communicates to the Celtic Board, the depth and level of anger and discord amongst the Celtic fans at the miserable transfer business and the incompetent way the Club is being run, in the eyes of the Celtic support and wider Celtic family.

But I think it should be done in a disciplined and structured way, that does not harm our ambitions to retain the League, win Cups and also hopefully make some sort of impact in the Europa League, and also keeps the players and squad onboard with those intentions.

 

100%. I'm not being selfish but it was something I wanted to see before I died and now it's something I'll never see. I even had a tattoo all lined up with a 10 blending into the middle of the Celtic crest. So it's personal for me

Previously I was completely against a boycott. I’ve cancelled my waiting list and not buying any merch after that statement last night. That was a spit in the face after a boot in the baws on the way doon.

I'll not be putting a penny into the club or any TV subscriptions going forward either. Until we get some accountability at the very least

 

They will never change, even if they took accountability .
