CELTIC insiders believe boss Brendan Rodgers wants out of Parkhead after a split over summer signings.

SunSport understands senior figures at the club are concerned he’s trying to “engineer his exit”.

Rodgers’ remarks on Celts’ work in the transfer window have not gone down well with the Hoops hierarchy.

Earlier in the window, he urged the club to "show ambition" in the transfer market.

He also said there needed to be a major inquest after their Champions League exit to Kairat Almaty.

Rodgers was left without a replacement striker for Adam Idah after he left to join Swansea on transfer deadline day, before a last-minute raid on the free agent market saw Kelechi Iheanacho brought in.

Now some insiders believe it’s reached a critical point — and the
gaffer could go before the end of his three-year deal.

One source told SunSport: “Senior figures inside the club believe Rodgers is engineering his exit.

“What he’s said in public has torn the club apart. On and off the record discussions are creating division throughout the club

He’s the only manager in the club’s historywho has repeatedly questioned things.

It’s been the same board, same management and same strategy.

“The club have spent tens of millions.

To make matters worse, these issues appear to be seeping into the performance of the team. It’s like Groundhog Day again.”

When Rodgers returned to Parkhead two years ago, he vowed to stay for the duration of his deal.

But some insiders feel the division could see the 52-year-old leave before the end of the current campaign.

Celts have forked out huge sums on transfer fees and presided over a significant increase in the wage bill since Rodgers’ return

Absolute hatchet piece btw * ridiculous trying to put heat on rodgers.

Wage bill has went up due to increased participation from UCL bonus clauses.

Spent tens of millions last i checked he was £69m on the black from disposals of players.

This board need * hunted and I mean * hunted!

“What he’s said in public has torn the club apart."

That line is absolutely wild if they truly believe that's what's tearing the club apart

Just having a talk with someone about transfers in last year accounts came out they claimed our total spend to £68.0m over the three financial years to 30 June 2024. Since the year end, and up to the closure of the transfer window on 30 August 2024, we have invested a further £31.2m into player registrations (including transaction costs). Over the summer transfer window, we twice broke the Club’s previous record transfer.

So thats basically £100m what they failed to mention is in same period we took in £146m.

Add to that £7m jota and the £13m spent this summer thats £120m spent since 2021.

Then factor in the £37m taken in transfers and addons this summer thats £183m so £63m profit in same period on transfers alone!!!!

I get the feeling if they pulled this with Ange, he wouldn't have been quite so diplomatic.

Genuinely think IF the background and ins and outs from this window ever come out they’ll be 1000x worse than all these fake stories and theories are coming up with

Tisdale’s position is very similar but not directly above the manager in the pecking order.

We already go mad about’club signings’, DoF doing that, closer to board level and closely following their vision. It’d finish off half the support who’s barely clinging on already
