As much as I agree that he should/will be given a chance, I don't think the Dolberg example is that great.

He's been playing regular football for the vast majority of his career with a far better track record. And would have been coming here in his prime after a 24 goal season. Still a regular for Denmark.

Iheanacho very much on the downward spiral. Bit hopefully does well.

I’m sure others have said this already but do you think it’s mad he’s not been pictured in a kit yet or any interviews……

We could sign Worzel Gummidge and some * would be like, 'he's got promise', 'give him a chance, he'll come good'. And a sizeable minority will continue singing that song even after it becomes painfully obvious the player hasn't got what it takes.

I don't need to see him in a Celtic jersey, I don't need to know if he's 12st or 14st, I don't need to know whether he's 28 or 32. I can take one look at his record and know he's not got a hope here. Cannae score at Middlesborough and Seville just ripped up his contract. What more do you need to know? He's washed up.

He will probably be shocked this is the biggest club he have ever played for. None of his former clubs comes even close. Obviously not quality-wise but you know what im talking about.

On Tuesday night it was announced that Celtic had signed Kelechi Iheanacho on a one-year deal, with the club having the option of a further year.

Today, for the first time since joining the Hoops, the Nigerian forward spoke about his joy at joining the Scottish Champions and linking up again with Brendan Rodgers.

He said: “I’m excited to be a Celtic player and I’m feeling really good about it. Celtic is a massive club and I’ve been following them for a long time.

“I’m happy to be a part of that now and hopefully it’ll be a great season.

“I’m looking forward to fighting for silverware with Celtic. In England, I won trophies so hopefully I can be a winner with Celtic as well.

“I can’t wait to be a part of all of it and I’m very confident that I can bring a lot to the team.”

The 28-year-old forward spent time with Manchester City early in his career before moving to Leicester City where he went on to win the FA Cup during Brendan Rodgers’ time as manager there.

Iheanacho’s move to Celtic sees him not only reunite with Brendan Rodgers again, but also with Kasper Schmeichel, who was part of that successful Leicester side.

And the Nigerian internationalist says he’s looking forward to reconnecting with his former colleagues as he looked ahead to experiencing Celtic Park as a Hoops player.

Kelechi added: “I’m really happy to be working with Brendan again. He’s a great man and a great coach with a good personality, and I’m happy to be playing under him again. The gaffer knows me and he knows what I can offer, so I just can’t wait to get going.

“When I was at Leicester, I used to sit next to Kasper in the changing room, so I’ll be happy to see him again. It’s been a long time, so I’m looking forward to speaking to him again.

“I was on the bench for Manchester City at Celtic Park back in 2016. It was a cold night but it was such a massive atmosphere! The Celtic fans are incredible and I can’t wait to play for them now.

“I’ll always give my best for the fans. I can’t wait to share good times with them and play good football.”

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said: “I know Kelechi so well and what he can bring to the team. He is such a talented player, with great ability, athleticism and work-rate.

“I am sure he will love being at Celtic and I believe our fans will love what he brings. He has great experience and he is right in his peak years so he can be a great signing for us. I am sure he will make a big contribution to the team.”

Why don't we play with speed, Ange had us playing with speed, Rodgers hybrid had us playing with more speed first half of last season

Watching all them even the weaker European sides passing the ball about easily with speed and and then we come in and stink the place out with * pensioners walking football.

    It's disgraceful really

He always seems to revert back to the slow paced boring football. Where's the risk?

I agree Dolberg has a better record and absolutely was the more exciting signing who's in a better place in his career, undoubtedly.

However, his best spells have come in Netherlands and Belgium which we all know doesn't necessarily translate to goals in the EPL where Iheanacho has played. It's undeniably a higher level

Dolberg was just okay in France it seems, then failed at Sevilla and Hoffenheim. At that point people would have been like "downward spiral", "he's done" because of fitness (injury) and form issues. That's where Iheanacho is at right now.

Dolberg got the chance to rebuild his reputation at Anderlecht and Iheanacho could well do the same with us. There is definitely parallels between them
