It’s past that stage. I couldn’t give two * what Nicholson has to say. It will just be lip service. It should have been resignations and sackings today. Who would actually believe a word that comes out his mouth anyway? Time for talking is over. It’s action required now, starting with hounding these rats out.

    Aye.

Let's be honest even if he has the baws to face the music it'll be buzz words galore.

"We've learned our lesson, won't happen again"

"We will take feedback away and have a root and branch review of the footballing structure" "Barrowfield is coming along well" "we care deeply for the traditions of celtic football club and delivering continued success on the pitch and to you, the celtic support, the greatest fans in the world"

    Blah blah blah.

Baws. i wouldnt put it past the wee weasel to use ChatGPT.

I want them hunted. That's a well worded message and agree with the sentiment but it's too nice. They don't deserve niceties

Last night I was thinking that boycotting EL games was the answer , but maybe full stadium protests organized by the GB, would embarrass them more in front of Europe.

It won’t mate. They understand one thing, one thing only. Money. You couldn’t mark their neck with a blowtorch. League games where season tickets have already been paid for are the time to protest, the money is in anyway. Don’t give them another penny though.

20k max inside the stadium in front of the cameras would be more embarrassing for them.

    Guaranteed.

I'm no season ticket holder, but if that's what it takes, I would never buy any tickets if that's the way to go. You'll still get happy clappers buying during boycotts though.

I will continue to not buy any merch until there are major changes.

Excellent statement. Hopefully the other CSC associations etc follow suit.

A good statement and well directed.

There is no point in pointing the finger at 'The Board', whihc is largely made up of non-executive figures, but at the Executives that run the Club and are the decision makers. Nicholson is the Chief Executive. In other words, in terms of actually managing the operations of the Club is his job and the buck stops with him. And in regards to the transfer activity, any such negotiations are entirely part of his remit.

Some months ago (not entirely certain on this), A Celtic State of Mind (ACSOM) said there had been a fan forum held with Tisdale, who had been in the job a good 6 months or so by that point, so his feet were well and truly 'under the table' so to speak by this point. I know nothing, can find nothing about this apparent forum meeting, not social media posts from Celtic advertizing it or making awareness of it or highlights/clips etc, but there you go... If there was such a meeting held with fans, seems a bit odd only certain representatives were invited while most were oblivious to it, but that again highlights if this did take place, why the Club has communications problem with the fanbase.

Tisdale allegedly said on that occasion that Celtic’s club model is for “possession based, attacking football”, and that the club model forms 90% of the club’s strategy with about 10% being down to the manager. Whether this is a change that has been implemented since Tisdale's appointment or pre-existed, he should be answering questions also.

Given the acrimonious circumstances which lead to Rodgers' departure in Feb 2019, there is no way when Cletic approached him about returning in 2023 that BR, his agents and lawyers would not have ensured certain things were set in stone, including transfer budget and/or allowance etc. Now, lets be honest, BR has a pretty terrible track record in the transfer market, not just at Celtic but it has been like this thoughout his career, irrespective of budget he has a very underwhelming record.

But given the high profile nature of his departure and given the circumstance of his re-appointment that he is not accountable for this current situation also, much less deserves a free pass, partly in relation to signings, but concerning the apparent malaise that he has allowed to creep in since the turn of the year, if not before, and this likewise has to be held accountablity.

These are not issues necessarily to be directed at the Board, persay, but they are 100% ones that should and need to be directed at the Club Executive and football operations branch. Nicholson, Tisdale, Rodgers.

It feels like a lot of folk on here (and in the wider Celtic fanbase for that matter) don't truly understand what it is that the Board does in it's capacity as guardians so to speak, as opposed to those in the Executive that actually run the Club. Yes, the Board appoint the Executives and ultimately have to approve of their overaching long term plans etc, because ultimately the Executives are answerable to the Board, but it is entirely the Executives that control all of the operational side, and that includes budgets and transfer activity.

Anyone still pointing the finger at Rodgers given what has just gone on. I’m not really sure what to say. Except, well wow.

The support is angry. Very angry.

Unless the board break with their usual policy of silence and release a publical statement i think its a sign they will just look to ride it out. Let the anger disappate when the season gets going.

If theres nothing but silence til AGM its a sign the anger isnt cutting through to them. I reckon they think as long as we lift title end of season we are off the hook.

Then there is the case of backroom staff.

Let´s say, for the sake of argument, that Rodgers walks.
Celtic approaches José Mourinho, who is willing to give it a shot.

Michael Nicholson: Delighted that you´re coming!
José Mourinho: It´s a once in a lifetime opportunity, couldn´t turn it down!
MN: You are starting ASAP yes?
JM: Yes, along with my trusted associates.
MN: No need for that, we´ve already got world class assistants!
JM: I´m bringing my own backroom team, as I always do!?
MN: Well, in that case it´s a non-starter. Kennedy and Strachan are employed for life. Thanks anyway.

Rodgers will leave, either sooner or later.
As things stand, he´ll be replaced with a manager who accepts keeping the status quo.
Which obviously makes any shortlist of potential successors short.

The situation is not healthy, in more ways than one.

I've seen several people mention that transfer spend over a certain level has to be approved by the board. If that's true, these requests for spending approval will go to the chairman of the board first. That could explain why we're so slow to get business done. Could we have had Dolberg before Ajax came in if we were quicker to get approval?

I just think it's naive to think that Lawwell doesn't have a say in our transfer business. Since he's become chairman our transfer dealing have regressed significantly.

    He needs to go.
