They'll peddle the same pish about wanting "quality" and getting "quality" is always harder. They tried to get "quality" in the door and unfortunately it just didn't go our way because of x, y and z.

Then Rodgers will come out and say something like:

"Listen, we would've liked to have had more bodies in, every manager will tell you that, but I'm happy with the business that we've conducted. Kieran, Benji, Bali and Sebastian will add a lot to this group. So we'll work with the players we've got and have another look at it in January. But I can't fault the guys behind the scenes, they worked ever so hard to bring the right players in, it doesn't always go your way in football."

I’ll have a bash at two pressers you’ll never hear.

The board will handle the presser -
We share the disappointment of our supporters at exiting the Champions League and we recognise the frustrations around recruitment. This summer we chose to act with prudence, knowing Brendan is contracted through this season but has not yet committed beyond that. It would not be in the club’s best interests to commit significant funds without clarity on the longer-term direction of the first team. Our responsibility is to safeguard Celtic’s stability and ensure that, should there be a change of leadership next summer, the new manager will have the resources to shape the squad in line with their vision. In the meantime, we have full confidence in Brendan and the players to compete strongly across all competitions this season.

    Brendan’s presser -
I think everyone connected with Celtic knows how much I care about this club, the players, and the supporters. We’ve invested well at the start of my tenure and made positive strides in Europe. But when it came to discussions about my future, it became clear there are natural limits to how far the board is willing to go in terms of squad investment. I fully respect that position, but at this stage I’ve chosen not to take forward contract extension talks. My focus is firmly on making the most of this season, helping the players improve, and continuing to bring success on the pitch. Beyond that, the club and I will naturally reassess where things stand.

Wouldn't surprise me the board say nothing not even a statement that's how much contempt they have for the support.

We tried, difficult to attract without UCL, demands too high

Dolberg was, for me, 100% a token effort to get an exciting name linked, with no real intentions to actually sign him. Used so that they've got a name they can use to say "we tried really hard for a big name".

Anyone who say "We could not do anything when Ajax came in for Dolberg" "He is a Ajax fan" are talking *.

If we stopped lowballing them, the deal would be signed and he would be sitting in Glasgow days before Ajax even came into the equation. That WAS a 100% board * as usual.

The same way Tounekti would chose Juventus if they came in the last 3 hours.

Why does anyone think there will be something here? It’s now an international break so there will be nothing, Rodgers will be in Majorca.

The Board only communication will come in two weeks time when the accounts are released and that will show an absolute mountain of money, which will be about £20m below the actual total, record revenue for the club, big profit, big remuneration for the board and club execs and record spend on merchandise and commercial.

What will be said is a condescending statement saying see this season won’t be as good we needed the cash pile to protect us and talk of we incurred the highest ever amortisation and wage bill ever completely missing the fact we will have made over £20m profit.

Think the International break is arranged after the deadline day to accommodate the silence from the Celtic board

Exactly. The real idea was Fofana, but luckily, he rejected us.
