Unless we’re doing what Man City and their ilk do and including a buy-back clause, this just seems incredibly * stupid. I’ve no idea if he would’ve made it here in the long run, but he’s only 19 and showed potential when he did get opportunities - and our response to that was to punt him back in to the B-team and seemingly not bother trying to get him a meaningful, progressive loan or just some decent domestic minutes when we were comfortably in the lead. Bigger and/or better run clubs than ours are willing to give teenagers a genuine shot with the first team, with plenty of notable successes, but we’re somehow too good for it?

Go back a year, or * just the start of this window, and there were conversations being had about Anderson & Frame potentially either deputising for Tierney or becoming our starting LB over the next few seasons and now they’ve both been sold in the one window.

Tierney has yet to last the full 90, Inamura, despite showing some potential, is being mucked around and now we’re resorting to signing a random out of favour Uruguayan with alleged attitude issues and who appears to be trading off of his past potential, rather than his current not-so-great form.

We’re a complete * shambles at every level, from the board down.

Aberdeen have agreed a £250,000 deal with Celtic for their young left-back Mitchel Frame.

The Dons are now waiting on the green light for the medical and to complete the four-year deal.

I hope we've included a sell on percentage of next sale or buy back deal as I can see this working out for him if given game time.

Aberdeen have landed Mitchel Frame - weeks after Liverpool failed in a bid.

The Dons have finalised a £250,000 fee with Celtic to land the full-back on a four-year deal.

Frame has now made the move to Pittodrie and has trained with his new teammates ahead of Sunday’s clash with Falkirk.

It comes weeks after Liverpool had an offer turned down. The English champions wanted Frame to add to their Under-21 squad, but couldn’t agree a deal with Celtic over future payments.

Belgian giants Anderlecht also expressed a strong interest in the Scotland U-19 cap.

Aberdeen, however, convinced Frame that his long-term future should be at Pittodrie.

He has been assured there is an immediate pathway into Jimmy Thelin’s squad, which was a major factor.

The youngster will fight it out with Emmanuel Gyamfi for the left-back position.

Frame’s arrival will also be important for Aberdeen’s Conference League squad.

The 19-year-old meets the association-trained quota and will also allow the Dons to add another overseas player to their squad because of it.

Frame had come through the Celtic and broke into Brendan Rodgers’ first-team.

Crazy Liverpool and anderlecht saw potential in him but he couldn’t deputise for Tierney over Scales in Frames actual position

Highly rated left back Mitchel Frame has today joined the club from Celtic.

The 19-year-old from Ayrshire will head to the North-east on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

A youth international, who has represented Scotland at Under-17 and Under-19 level, Mitchel rose through the ranks in the Celtic Youth Academy, making his senior debut for the club in a UEFA Champions League victory over Feyenoord in 2023.

“We have been monitoring Mitchel’s progress for some time, and we are very pleased we have eventually managed to sign him”, said Dons boss Jimmy Thelin

He is a forward-thinking full back, with pace and physicality, and he fits well with how we want to play and what our expectations are of our full backs. His arrival will also give us more resilience and stability in that area of the pitch.

“He’s an exciting talent and we look forward to working with him to help him release his future potential.”

In what is an important step in his bourgeoning career, Mitchel is looking forward to playing his part in the season ahead as the Dons compete both domestically and in Europe.

He said: “This is a great opportunity for me to come and play at such a big club.

“As soon as I heard Aberdeen were interested I was really excited. I know it will be a great opportunity to prove myself and take the next step in my career. I want to show everyone what I am capable of.

“I want to go and experience playing in the Conference League. It will be good to face different opposition and get exposure to that.

“I just want to play as many games as I can and help the team achieve success.”

Hopefully there's a buy back, otherwise seems stupid to let him go especially after letting Anderson go earlier as well.

Who knows how good he’ll ultimately end up proving to be, but for the moment this just seems like yet another example of us mismanaging youth prospects.

What’s the point in hanging around here when it seems like you’re only going to get a proper shot at the first team if there’s a massive injury crisis, after which you’ll probably inevitably end up being bombed back to the B-team anyway, or having to wait until you’re in your 20s.
